Actually, WinBack predates both Kill.switch and Gears of War in the cover mechanic.
But Gears did it in a way that was much more fluid than either, and backed it up by being a good game, something that WinBack and Kill.switch cannot really claim to be.
EDIT: Fixed capitalization on WinBack. And Kill.switch
Gun + Chainsaw combo, Crossbow that has exploding arrows, Hammer of Dawn, best use of cover I've seen, Grenade tagging enemies, curb stomping, teammate revives were quick and easy etc etc..

killswitch was actually one of Cliffy and Mark's favorite games, but it didn't have multiplayer.
I don't know if it was original, per se, but it was a breath of fresh air against all the FPS's that were flooding the market at the time.
Overall, it was just what the 360 needed and gamers needed.

lol.
nice response, I guess you concede and accept ownage.Gears Was very original. People who claim it isn't are those who cling to those pc games that people played 20 years ago. :roll:Squall18

Chainsaw and curb stomp, maybe, but the rest has been done before and would not qualify as "very original".
But, nonetheless, the campaign was very fun.

Yeah, I remember WinBack, it debuted on N64,then was ported to PSOne. There was a fuss that the PSOne port wasn't going to look as good. I remember thinking when I bought it on N64 that the Devs (KOEI?) took the MGS1 wall mechanic and made a whole game out of it. It was decent for it's time though.

You are correct, and I agree. It was not great, but not bad either. I guess it was just ok to me. It was fun in multiplayer though.

So what other game had the hammer of dawn equivalent or grenade tagging? The grenade tagging is any sticky grenade and have been around since the N64 days. The hammer of dawn has been done in other games too, but not in the same concept, and rather in a charge and fire way.

I think sticky grenades that you throw is a little different than meleeing a grenade into the opponent's body :) I haven't seen another gun shoot a laser that comes out of the sky ..but we are arguing over nitpicks ;)[QUOTE="kenshinhimura16"][QUOTE="hopesfall2own"][QUOTE="TNOFTG"][QUOTE="hopesfall2own"]Gun + Chainsaw combo, Crossbow that has exploding arrows, Hammer of Dawn, best use of cover I've seen, Grenade tagging enemies, curb stomping, teammate revives were quick and easy etc etc..

And they still are, no one has provided a real comparison to those. Charging a gun isn't the same as the hammer, and sticky grenades you throw are not tagging. hopesfall2ownThe mechanics were just slightly altered, nothing there that's terribly original.
Stop acting so stuborn.
