I believe the episodes are Half-Life 3 divided up.
Correct me if I'm wrong though.

I thought they were just puting out episodes so we did not have to wait as long.
@ those saying that the episodes are half life 3. This has neither been denied or confirmed so you can't know for certain, and valve will most likely make more and more half life games after the episodes.
Also, valve has said that they are making 4 episodes, I don't have a link but if you just visit the steam forums then it will tell you thereĀ
Episodic content, is the lamest crap ever.....Ā Its taking them what FEELS like a full game development cycle, just to bring out the next episode, yet valve stated there whole reason with going with the episodic buisness model was to get the game out to the consumer way faster....... :roll:Ā yea that sure is working out great.
+ episode 1 was way to short, and was a total rip off.
Episodic content works - just look at the pure awesomeness that is Sam and Max: Season One (one great new game every month!). Valve just aren't very good at making episodic games - meeting deadlines has never been 'their thing'.
As for Half-Life 3 - I don't see the Half-Life plot being tied up in the next 10 hours of episodic content, so they'll almost certainly start developing their next Half-Life game after they've finished Episode 3 (unless they're working on HL3 secretly while making the episodes, which would be awesome).
There has to be a Half-Life 3, as the episodes are specifically entitled Half-Life 2: Episode whatever. It would make no sense for their next game to be called Half-Life 4, thus Half-Life 3 will exist.
I am not looking foward to HL3 After playing HL2. Barely any plot developement.
Gman tells me to do this, and at the end he just says "thanks".
I say no thanks to HL3. I say Hooray to a new CS thou.Ā
Yes... and they have released a screenshot...Not when UT2K7 and CrySiS come out :(
(if you have not already figured out this is fake, you need to get your brain checked)
Anyways... I still want to see some conclusions in the HL2 storyline... and the Source engine is a great piece of work that will surely last for a while yet.foxhound_fox
Lol @ thinking episodes (aka expansions) are labeled as 'half life 3'.
and Lol @ thinking HL3 won't be made
Ā
HALF-LIFE 3 will be made sometime. Once all HL2 episodes are out and demand decreases, and once technology advances a lot more so you can see the same difference you saw when comparing HL1 to HL2 then HL3 shall arise. I'm guessing there will still be 4+ years till that happens.Ā
Everyone at Valve is too busy trying to get HL:2 Orange in somewhat playable form on the PS3.

I kinda got fooled when I looked at the crow bar, but looked at the whole picture and loled.Ā
So we should abandon the idea because of one DEV, uhhh....no.Episodic content, is the lamest crap ever.....Ā Its taking them what FEELS like a full game development cycle, just to bring out the next episode, yet valve stated there whole reason with going with the episodic buisness model was to get the game out to the consumer way faster....... :roll:Ā yea that sure is working out great.
