Is Halo best FPS series ever

The fact it is FPS is much better than open-world crap like The Witcher 3. 2016 DOOM is one of worst FPS ever with crappy controls and poor level design.

Halo is sandbox/linear better than Metro. Also one of the worst games ever.

I say Halo is best FPS series ever. Some people say "Juub, no!!"

If Halo Infinite is anything like the original where both SP and MP are fully fleshed out, it could be great.

Half life is better, because they didn't keep making really bad sequels which dropped the average of the series.

Counter Strike, even if it was a mod.

Half Life lost interest in itself after two games. Crysis started really well and got spectacularly bad by the time it disappeared finally up its own arse. Metro is dull as ****. I never liked Fear either.

What else is there? Doom 1 and 2 had the biggest impact of any FPS ever and pretty much invented FPS multiplayer though it went downhill after that till the reboot.

Wolfenstein TNO was good but the new one absolutely blows chunks (IMO).

Yeah, Halo gets my vote for best of an inconsistent bunch.

Nope. To me it died the moment they shortened the SP campaign and added MP in Halo 2.

But no, it largely got a free pass as baby first FPS. Quake 1/2 have better campaigns, Halflife (obv), Fear, RTCW, Duke3d etc..

Heck, even on the console side, Doom64 > Halo/Goldeneye

Really looking forward to the update to MCC, that collection, as it stands, is worth it's weight in Gold but if it gets the X1X enhancements and includes Reach, ODST and Halo5, my goodness gold may not be worth it's weight in HALOS. :P

No doubt in my mind it's the best never been interested in COD. The weapons are better the level design and enemy types are right up my street.

I've tried so hard to get into Halo over the years, but I just never have fun playing any of them. I don't understand the appeal of the series.

Goldeneye 007 on the N64 is still my favorite FPS game to play. It has an amazing soundtrack, no lame health regeneration, the Facility which is the best FPS map ever made, and proximity mines. No other FPS can beat that in my book.

The campaigns are terrible. The best FPS must also have a good campaign.

Its my favorite but I don't know what is "best" for others. That's above my paygrade.

Im the only one i guess found every single Halo just decent to good games ? Not even very good let alone amazing ? Maybe its just not my cup of tea, for a reason i could never manage to get into this and i could tell why the first was great. But after that .. beeh.

Since those games were the best FPS at the time for consoles i guess thats huge
