Is Halo Reach really ending the Halo series?

I recall I heard sometime not to long ago that Halo Reach would be the last game in the Halo series, is this true? i cant imagine seeing Microsoft end the best series (Well to most people) on the 360 :? If it is the end of the series, Then 360 is Doomed!! loll jk jk

For Bungie it is, after Halo Reach they said they have other unconfirmed projects they're working on.

Bingo. MS has already arranged an in-house studio (343 Industries) to handle any Halo titles post-Halo:Reach.

Yes, 343 Industries is taking over Halo, they made Halo: Waypoint. 343 is basically a few ex-Bungie dudes and some other guys.

I said kinda, and I used the ":P" emoticon to stress it was a joke as my second point really brings home the punchline which is that they "got a hit on their hands that fills their pie holes". In other words, they have a hit, which most devs can only dream of, and they get to go to work on something that they created and enjoy..and Get Paid for it.

So, you obviously missed my point, but since you brought it up.

There is a reason Bungie fought (worked out a deal or whatever you want to call it) for their independence, and they did state something along the lines of being done after Halo 3, but they obviously are not. They have made two Halo games since and no new IP's have been seen yet.

I can't wait to see them enjoy "the luxury of branching out" you speak of, since that was obviously a PR statement, and not reality. They believed it when they said it, but the case is just like shutdown stated. They are making Halo.

I know this is hard to understand for some folks, but iimagine being an artist (music, art, whatever) and being forced to keep making variations of a theme. It's like musicians that hate playing their most popular songs on stage. They are sick of it. They want to do other stuff. Bungie obviously loves their creation, but they fought to be free to be able to leave Halo and do other works. Before Halo, that was teh Bungie CULTURE. AFter Halo, they have been forced for almost a decade to pump out Halo games. It's been wonderful I'm sure, but they want to do other stuff.

Bungie loves Halo just as much as MS and it's killing them to give it up and do something else. For proof, check out the latest episode of 4 Guys 1 Up.

Then after a few years of hiatus (after drilling the franchise into the ground), we'll have "Halo: False Prophets".A re-imagining of the first Halo game.

I bet none of the masked main "characters" will show their real faces.

Afer Bungie releases Halo Reach they will rename Halo 4 "Circle 4x4" inorder to avoid a lawsuit, and release the game on whatever platform they want :P
