I have no idea where this is coming from :lol: Seriously, the Ratchet and Clank franchise is excellent. Gamespot may not have scored this gens entries as AAA, but others love it. The Metacritic ratings are near 90. All 4 One is a coop driven enigma that many Ratchet fans didnt like either. Resistance has been an excellent IP with solid ratings. Insomniac makes solid games that typically carry themselves without any hype like BF or COD.

I doubt this game is even good because some people would buy any game. I am examining it as overall game and they for a company that is supposed to be creative sure don't have much creativity involved. Did you play Resistance 3? The game is so much better in every way its not even funny. There is a Resistance 3 demo on PSN right now. I wasnt even going to give the game a second look, but after playing that demo, its on my next purchase list.
First of all, their games sucks. They make annual games that are not on par with other triple A games. They arederivative formulaic games that have no personality whatsoever. Their games have this pseudo obsession with guns with poor puzzle/platforming/level design mechanics. Their games are flawed and they never fix them. So, I wonder why are they considered a top-tier developer if they can't get fundamentals like gameplay correct? Am I missing something about their games that is causing me to stop playing them?

No they are not overrated. They are excellent devs but I admit the Resistance series was mediocre. The latest one being the best though so they have improved. The poor sales are likely because of the inconsistency of the series.
But, the Ratchet and Clank series was one of the best series last gen on PS2 and some of the top games on that system. On PS3 the series is also excellent. It seems like they took a break from that series because they released one every year. Ratchet and Clank is one of the top platformer series out there no one can deny that.

Because they don't warrant a higher score from you doesn't mean the overall community. Deal with it. Also, this. Spyro 1-3 were better games (for their time) than Super Mario 64, its competition.
I don't know if they're the most overrated developer out there but they get a lot more credit than they deserve. I like A Crack in Time and R1, but everything else they've done this gen has been garbage. Ratchet and Clank All 4 One and Resistance 3 especially seemed like bids to get out of an exclusivity contract ASAP rather than worthwhile games.

Because of Spyro and the PS2 Ratchet games (Scartching secert agent calnk and Size matters) In fact, the only time they did better than Naughty dogg was the PS2 Ratchet games. (Before SAC and SM) After Deadlocked your theory starts becoming more relevant.

No but I definately think they've gone downhill. I'd say they peaked with Going Commando and Up Your Arsenal which are some of my favorite games. I also believe that RFOM and R&C FToD are better then their respective sequels

Oh yes really! You have a right to an opinion, but also understand, that your opinion is your opinion only, and that there are many many gamers in the real world that would disagree with you.... Just because you personally don't like them...or have something against them for what ever reason......that doesn't mean that you still cant be reasonable and give credit where credit is due. You cant deny the quality of the games they've put out. For 3 generations in row they've given us a signature and high quality series. Each one different and each one arguably better. Going by your posts, they are under rated by you. They aren't called Naughty Gods for nothing!

take some of your own advice and apply that to the Bungie/Epic games post you made a page back. you didn't even elaborate on it, just spat out two developers that happened to make 2 of the biggest hits for the Xbox.

No, there aren't very many people obsessing over them this gen like there are Naughty Dog. Ratchet and Clank was absolutely fantastic, especially last generation, and most can agree Spyro is awesome. I think Resistance is not their best work. I'm excited to play the third game, but I honestly wish they stayed making games like Ratchet and Clank. They make great games, they do great work, and they are absolutely not overrated.
