This isn't meant to be racist in any way. Is this just a cultural thing? I know people in Asia love Nintendo and will always beat out Sony in terms of hand held games. I have 2 questions. Why is it that Asians love Nintendo and African Americans love Playstation? I can somewhat understand the Nintendo love. The playstation thing, is it because there's a lot of sports titles for Playstation and online is free or is it because it's a name they trust (speakers, amps, cd players, ect.)?

I didn't mean to cause any offense. It's just a general observation I've made in terms of gaming preference. Asians love Nintendo and African Americans (from what I've noticed) love Playstation. In no way do I mean this question to be offensive. If someone takes it that way, I'm sorry. If someone takes this discussion in a racist direction, that's not my intent, and it would be their doings, not mine.

Safe to say you're not serious, no one generalizes a race based mearly from ones experience. Are you joking? Even if you do a research of 10.000 participants, you would still be generalizing. Yes that was your intent, simply because this thread is devoid of any logical foundation whatsoever.

Contrary to your belief TC, Nintendo is actually non existent here in the Philippines. Playstation and Xbox are more popular and Nintendo is always branded as kiddy or old. But i myself am a Nintendo fan and couldn't care about what others' preferences are.

Mainly in my town when ever I'm at Wal-Mart, which is quite often. Before I bought a PS3 (about Feb. 2010) I'd be looking at 360 games. There would almost always be a person of color getting/looking/saying that they wanted a PS3 or sports game for PS3. When I purchased my PS3, there were a few left. If I remember right, there was an African American women who picked up one. I got one, then hung around to get accessories and a game, and another African American gentleman picked up the last one. Right before leaving the area, a young African American came up, looked in the case and was upset that there weren't any more. When I worked at Wal-Mart, I was always getting PS2 games for people, mainly African Americans. And probably about 2/3rds of the time, it was a sports game.

Maybe it's because your Asian friends are friends with your other Asian friends, and somewhat bought a Nintendo console which caused a chain reaction and resulted in all your Asian friends buying Wiis and same for Playstation. See people, you can put logic into race threads. Hmph.

asians also love sony. basicily anything thats made by anything OTHER than them is shunned. if the people you see play PS3 then just say that the people you see play ps3...theyre all pretty much geard to any culture. i think its pretty sad that you generalize like you did, whether its meant to be racist or not. certainly if you know gaming than you know games are for anyone without regard to gender or culture. plenty of african americans play on the 360....and even pc. your observation is definatly lacking knowlege dude. no matter what way you put it, that was terrible...

They just want to justify it. Same with trolls, you can tell as soon as they say "not trying to troll or anything, but...."

That right there is a red flag of doom.

I got an NES for my 3rd birthday. Maybe not the entire community. Mainly seeing if it was this way across the board. To Sloth's post, I put "This makes a lot of sense to me and actually does, in a few ways, answers my question." what??? i didnt say anything like that. i think you misquoted dude....

It did it again. I go to quote someone and then THAT happens.

What business is it of yours what I say about myself? Also I think it's much healthier to make light of sterotypes than to hold them inside like you, and foster secret racist feelings, be "appropriate" all the time until one day you go postal on the 6 o'clock news. This is my first and only account here, but I take it people make alts? Thanks I'll keep that in mind.

I've been to a few forums in my day. I don't know if your intent was to try to just simply state an OT point, or post in hopes of this being locked even though there's nothing racist being posted. Usually when people want a thread to go away, they don't bump it though ;)

Nintendo has genetically altered the DNA of Asians to love anything that says Nintendo on it. Sony has done the same to African Americans and MS laces Natural Light beers with a gene that makes people love Xbox, hence the college crowd. This is the only explanation

How come every time someone says "I don't mean to sound racist" they sound racist? :PMr_Caboose007
they say that because they are about to say something that is a perception about races and possibly stereotypes. Now a days everything that makes out a race as being different is pretty much "racist" but people are too touchy feely butt hurting ass hats.

Oh god, we're starting to see video games mixed with racism now. Not only are we going to have Nintendo vs Sony fights, but also Asians vs African Americans fights? Dang :(

What do Persians prefer? I'm Persian and need to know my console of choice.

Isn't Iran part of Asia? So your console of choice is Nintendo :P

"why does every time somebody says "with all due respect" they actually mean "kiss my ass"" yes TC you sounded extremely racist...this "african americans are attracted to sony" where the hell you got that from? at least the asian thing, well, in japan at least, they preffer their own stuff because they are very patriotic if you might say, this is not racism but you've got to admit japan has a bias against the west.
