To answer TC i have no idea, but we do all know that MW2 has some fixed reviews.

It's still the best and most technically impressive open world game ever created. Also there aren't many games that give more bang for your buck than GTA IV. It also still remains in the top 10 most played games on XBL today,most of the time being in the top 5.Stop hating and get over it. It's a 10. Move along.

GTA4 is the best GTA in the series and alot of reviewers appreciated this regardless of hype.

Of course not, Rockstar really worked hard on that game so it's deserving of a 10. I'd give it a lower score, but I understand why so many critics gave it perfect scores. It's a shame that too many gamers don't appreciate GTAIV and take it for granted because they really put a lot of effort into making that game.

They cant have paid out every publication... reviews were bonkers all across the board, I think they just nailed the typical review criteria right on the head.

When I first loaded up GTA4 and played through the storyline - GTA4 = 10/10

After I beat the game - GTA4 = 8/10

When I got it on PC - GTA4 = 9.5/10

also to give a "PERFECT 10" implies perfection. Grand Theft Auto has always been a little of everything: Driving game, shooting game, heck even all the mini games and dating games. My only problem is that GTA4 didn't do all of those categories well. It is a sub-par driving game, no one can disagree with that. As far as a shooter, the controls/glitchyness are horrible. And as far as dating games, it's annoying enough to have your wife/girlfriend calling you every 10mins without having to relive that in a game. A game is made up of the sum of all it's parts.. so if all the parts are sub-par, what does that make the game? I will give GTA4 story and graphics though ;)dRuGGeRnaUt

I don't have any reason to believe they paid out for good reviews, but I do think it was over rated everywhere.

I think the reviewers just got too caught up in the hype.

The game's boring but its still worthy of high scores, imo. I wouldn't give it a 10 personally, but I wouldn't give any game a 10 for thatmatter. Even tho a 10 is prime here in GS, itrepresents a perfect unattainable score to me.

Iunno. I'd personally say yes because I thought it was horriblyboringfrom the hour and a half I played of it(coming from someone who has spent hundreds upon hundredsof hours playing Vice City and San Andreas and loving every second of it). Maybe it was because they seemed to have taken the game too seriously, maybe it was the Forza-esquedriving where it was like Burnout before, maybe it was the smaller weapon selection, but I thought the game deserved an 8.5 at best. =/

That's kind of like agreeing on the size of the universe. We don't know the answer, and it's unlikely we will in our lifetime, so what does everyone sitting here agreeing on one particular answer really mean?

San andreas you can do waay more than gta4. Come on man. All gta4 has over the other gta games is the euphoria engine. Which is beautiful btw

After playing MGS IV, after reading it had a 10 from a lot of sites, I was still amazed by the game.

GTA IV was not the same. I've still yet to finish it, and I probably never will. Every time I put it in, I am reminded how horrible the gameplay is, and am disappointed all over again.

I'm sure the TC didn't actually read any of the reviews from the reviewers that supposedly got "paid off." Most of the 10s are explained extremely well. But whenever one tries to explain the 10s, the game's detractors stick their fingers in their ears simply because the game didn't click with them personally.

I admit that a lot of the decisions R* made were divisive. The reviewers seemed to appreciate these decisions while about half of the general gaming population were alienated. That sense of alienation does not make the 10's from reviewers who were more open-minded about the new direction less valid.

Maybe that plus hype. But we don't really have any evidence, but again, I wouldn't be surprised if they did.

gta is the most loved game in the market even more than halo. just look at the sales for this game. even mgs 4 gto a 10. i mean if mgs 4 got a 10 gta shiould get a least a ten. gta 3 vice city san andrea and 4 sold like noother game ever sold. people love the gta games.
