Is it getting tougher and tougher to be an Xbox 360 fanboy?

This is not an attack on fanboys themselves. It's just an observation. From a psychology perspective, I genuinely believe that it is indeed getting tougher and tougher for 360 fanboys. And if you are fair and honest, you should agree with me. If you disagree, I like to know why.

I mean everyone has a threshold. The more of a fanboy you are, the higher the threshold you have for when reality hits you. This goes for PS3, Wii, and 360 fanboys. But the current state and the immediate future of console gaming suggest clearly to me that the PS3 will enjoy more positive news than the 360. How many bad news for the 360 and good news for the PS3 will there need to be before 360 fanboys admit that :

1) the 360 will be in last place

2) the PS3 is more powerful (the biggest and best looking games are on the PS3)

3) the PS3 has better exclusives in 2008 and 2009

4) the PS3 is the better buy for people with HD TVs.

5) the 360 is the least casual friendly of the 3 consoles

All I am am sure of is: expect more good news for the PS3 than the 360. As such, the title of this thread stands.

I don't think this is a bad thing; fanboys aren't a good thing to have around.
But I will say that I'd buy a 360 over a PS3 any day so far, and even looking into the future.

But one things for sure, Sony fanboys are the most impenetrable, difficult, and stubborn (and often ignorant) pricks around. I base this on experience lolrexCo

360 news so far has only made me more excited. Banjoe Threeie, Fable 2, Gears 2, Halo Wars? Peter Jackon's Halo Chronicles? Alan Wake? Ninja Gaiden 2? Who knows what else. I don't care about sales or how much more power the PS3. It's all about what you do with the hardware you have.HappyAppe

For you to list all of those games and say you don't care about the PS3's power or increasing sales, I think you are not being honest. If the PS3 has more power and shows it in games like Uncharted, and especially Gran Tourismo, then you would care if you care about good looking games.

Your points seem a bit biased and this coming from a "supporter" of the Playstation 3 console. If anything, it's becoming tougher to be an Xbox 360 Fanboy as the Playstation 3 is getting better. It now has time and content under it's belt to hold it's own weight. So your mature fanboys who had some point in their selective stance in the past are now growing up and realizing that the console isn't that bad, it's appealing to them in one way or another.

You have to give credit where credit is due.

See, there are these things called games, you know - the things you play on the system? Thing is, different people have different tastes. Many people might just prefer the games available for the 360?

If power and graphics were as important as you make out, why isnt the PS3 selling 20-25 million like the Wii? Or why hasnt the PS3 thrashed the sales that the 360 had in its first year with it own first year sales?

A lot of your "points" sounded very biased and I hear a lot of speculation. Your claim that the PS3 is more powerful is quite debatable, If this is true, why have the exclusives not been more critically acclaimed than 360 titles? PS3 still has no AAAE's. Are devs simply not taking advantage? Or has this been proven to be little more than a fallacy only Cows believe?

In addition, your third point about the games being better is merely opinion. Not everyone will agree.

I don't think it would be that tough to be an Xbox fanboy. They have great games such as Fable 2, Halo 3, NG2, Gears, plus many others. Are they better than the PS3's exclusives? Maybe, maybe not. Are they worse? Maybe, maybe not.

Regardless, it is personal opinion. I may love Fable 2 and Halo 3 more than any other PS3 exclusive, therefore making the 360 a more preferable choice for myself as a gamer than the PS3 is. Sales don't matter to me, most powerful console doesn't matter to me, all these things don't matter. Just as long as I got good games, I'm set.

I'm actually a proud owner of the 360 because it has all the games I enjoy. It was the first next gen console I bought and I was satisfied what it has to offer. I also own a PS3 so I'm pretty much enjoying my next gen experience.

To be fair there are some games I would want to play on the 360, Bioshock being one of them.

I like good looking games, but I also realize its more about the gameplay, and thats why those games hold my interest. They are doing things in the gameplay department which look good to me.

maybe you can list the ps3 problems. i can list the 360 problems, and i'm a lemming, you should do the same.

also, i don't give damn about if the ps3 sales more than the 360, at least i don't deny it happening, but i go on with my day.

if white knight story get news, i might check it ouut when i get a ps3, if valkyres of the battle get more news, imight check it out,if tekken 6 is out i might try it. the point is that ,short of ninja gaiden 2 bieng cancelled, the ps3 news do not bother me, like how the 360 apparently bothers you enough to make threads about it.

This is not an attack on fanboys themselves. It's just an observation. From a psychology perspective, I genuinely believe that it is indeed getting tougher and tougher for 360 fanboys. And if you are fair and honest, you should agree with me. If you disagree, I like to know why.

I mean everyone has a threshold. The more of a fanboy you are, the higher the threshold you have for when reality hits you. This goes for PS3, Wii, and 360 fanboys. But the current state and the immediate future of console gaming suggest clearly to me that the PS3 will enjoy more positive news than the 360. How many bad news for the 360 and good news for the PS3 will there need to be before 360 fanboys admit that :

1) the 360 will be in last place

2) the PS3 is more powerful (the biggest and best looking games are on the PS3)

3) the PS3 has better exclusives in 2008 and 2009

4) the PS3 is the better buy for people with HD TVs.

5) the 360 is the least casual friendly of the 3 consoles

All I am am sure of is: expect more good news for the PS3 than the 360. As such, the title of this thread stands.

But there are plenty of games on the 360 that are out/being released that are definitely worth owning. Plus, as a gamer, I don't really care what professionals think. If there are great games being released on the 360 (which there are) I'll play the console. And many 360 owners feel this way.

If games stop coming to the console, well I'll follow the games to where htey go.

So the conclusion comes to: nope, its not getting tougher to be a 360 fanboy.
