I dont mean to bash any systems or anything, but has anyone else found that the Gamecube is dying faster than the Xbox did?  I mean, the 360 came out a year or so ago, and up until about winter, the xbox still gave out a decent amount of games, all things considered.  If you look at the coming soon list now, you see mostly TBAs, and Q# 2007, with one cancelled game.

The gamecube seems different.  The Wii has only been availible a couple of months, and already Gamecube seems worse off than the xbox does now.  The GCN coming soon list is mostly cancelled, and TBAs.

PS2 seems fine for right now.  Whats your opinion on the matter?

My opinion is that Sony clearly won last generation. Their machine was out first, and there are still new games in development. More than the other guys. If you ask me, lifespan is more important than HDR lighting, RAM, and numbers on a tech sheet...

I believe you should upgrade to the next generation once it's there anyway. In my opinion there is no reason to own a Xbox, Gamecube or PS2 at this point.

I sold my Gamecube right after I finished Resident Evil 4.

Zero regrets.

GameCube and Xbox were both pretty much tied for a distant 2nd. They both lost. Microsoft could have released Kameo on the Xbox, but they wanted a stronger 360 launch. At least ZELDA:TP came out on the  GameCube. Verdict -- Xbox 3rd, GameCube 2nd, PS2 1st (by a mile)

wow its a shocker the gamecube died know. look this system was long dead. before sheep start bashing me i have a wii. but the cube was behind it didnt upgrade to consistant online play, which the wii provides but im still waiting for. it didnt have good third party support which the wii is getting because developers have stated they enjoy making games for the system, the cube had some great exclusive games but when multiplats came out the xbox or ps2s version were just better. the gamecube was dead right after resident evil 4 becasue nothing special happened for the system after that. the wii looks like it fixed the problems. but hasnt proven it yet. i fully expect them to but only time will tell

Are you a girl? You must be, because you just changed my opinion.

And by the way, I nowhere said you should sell you're system once the next generation arrives. I merely said you must upgrade to it once it's there. So you can still play any game if you want. In my opinion it's just a waste of time. Especially with GOWII since the first one wasn't all that great anyway. It couldn't touch Ninja Gaiden on any level. And it was way too easy. I don't expect GOWII to be any different.

Oh, and to clarify: my opinion.

GC's last game was BKO. And it was released 2 months before the Wii came out, so you're probably right. Having said that, there are a bunch of games that were going to be on the Cube that are getting facelifts for the Wii. So I'm down with that.

Yeah for some reason nintendo abandons their systems. Notice when the gamecube came out, n64 games were almost cut off immedietly.
