Is it just me or do people want to start shooting people who make these threads now?

GTA games are not supposed to look amazingly good! They have massive scope and detail, thus they sacrifice graphics for other elements like lighting, detail, draw distance etc.

Funny how he attacks the Wii though. The truth hurts when a game is being developed without a focus on graphics, and fanboys have to swallow the bitter pill. They need to understand that games are rarely focused on graphics, even most of the ones on the 360/PS3. The reason the graphics are so good on the 360/PS3 is that they are really pushing the hardware, unlike a lot of developers who arent taking the Wii seriously. They think the games will sell, because they have it in their heads that "casuals" are retards. The real retards are the few who call themselves hardcore and argue for hours about the smallest graphical detail, like it will somehow affect your enjoyment of the game.

Im not saying graphics dont matter, they do to a certain extent, just not the extent people exaggerate. Games like Crysis cant just be about graphics, or it wouldnt have been a contender for GOTY, but im getting sick of the focus on graphics. Its almost like fanboys are trying to justify their purchase. But Many people tried that with the N64 and Xbox and they still sold a third and less that a third of the PS1 & 2 respectively.

I think the graphics look great considering the size of the game.

Nope, the trailers look great, screenshots look great and most importantly unlike so many other games, the GTA series manages to capture atmosphere, which makes up for plenty of bad textures or whatever.

From the reports, the game animates greatly (much better than other games), has a massive scope and plenty of original assets. Amazing colours, attention to detail and lighting too...

So no, I don't think that it looks even slightly last gen. :)

You need glassess, seriously because there are no jaggies on that bottom picture, and if you're talking about the first then you've clearly never even played a GTA game before because that's San Andreas...the last gen GTA...

I think GTA4 looks great, it has a distinct art style, that actually stands out from the gritty Unreal engine games. GTA4 doesnt look as good as say..Gears or uncharted mainly because of the scale of this game, it's massive, and inhabited with people/cars/buildings.

Then again, whoever was expecting a Grand Theft Auto game to be a graphical powerhouse needs to sit down and rethink their gaming career.

That's about as big a graphical improvement as you can possibly get from one game to the next. And you can't even see Euphoria in pics.
