is it just me or does Halo 3 beta look like it couldve been done on the Xbox

after playing Gow2 on Ps2 and how good it looked , it makes me wonder, the way the halo 3 beta looks when i played it, it looks like it couldve been made on the original Xbox if bungie wanted to squeeze the power from it like the developers of Gow2

and please dont say omg graphix dont matta!, cause the gameplay sucked too

you do know that the graphics dont make a HUGE jump from beta to final version... im not expecting a OMG holy **** graphics, i just wanted it to look at least as good as the GRAW2 Beta graphics, and obviously it didnt

No, i'm not a Halo fan. Just think it's incredibly ironic that people must state over and over again how unimpressive the graphics are in the beta. We know they're aren't impressive, move on.

last i heard some one needs new glasses, Halo 3 even in beta OBIVOUSLY looks better then halo 2, Better weapon and character models, better textures, more diverse enviorments, better lighting.WilliamRLBaker

no YOU need new glasses, the textures are crap, same gameplay basicly other then a bubble and a pistol with a blade atached to it, (how original, reminds me of the lancer from gears of war, except that its one handed)

It's not the final version but at this point there's nothing that's going to change visually. They don't redesign entire levels last minute.

Halo3 looks prettymuch like what a 480p 1 player Xbox1 version could've looked like. The tack on effects like the water are nice yet trivial and the level detail and geometry is just pitiful.

i would understand if its a little underwelming, but the beta just makes me wanna beat the bungie developers in the head with a bat, for possibly screwing up a AAA series

Other than Halo CE (on the PC), i've never had fun with a Halo game online or off. Telling me this is like telling the pope that he is a religious person, it's obvious. I was simply stating the obvious, since it isn't the final version. I'm not making assumptions any further.

But the gameplay wasn't there either so either way it's a lose/lose situation.

are you on drugs? the game DOESNT look fine, ill be surprised if the game even comes close to looking as gears of war, yeh they added equipment, a pistol, heat seeking rocket launcher and a bubble gernade?. what do you mean changed up the way you use guns? what? now you use the RB to reload and swap weapons? instead of X? heck yeh thats a helleva upgrade and NO, gears of war would own halo 3 even if it was 2d

These don't look like they could've been done on teh original xbox

alpha to beta = much better graphics, major tweaks in gameplay.  

beta to final = very, very little improvement in graphics, minor tweaks in gameplay

This is how videogames generally work.  Bungie has till mid-August to get the dang game completed.  Why mid-August?  Bungie has to mass produce this game.  They have to attack the weak spot for massive damage...They have to make a lot of copies of this game to meet the overwhelming demand.  The game needs to be completed in 3 months.  With only 3 months, graphical improvement is negligible at this point.  Sorry lemmings.

I just played the game for a couple of hours and I loved it. I forgot about the graphics since I was having so much fun.

The water looks amazing though.. :shock:

That's their opinnion though. I just got done playing the Beta and I'm dissapointed with the graphics. Good thing the gameplay is as fun as Halo 2 though. To tell the trut, after playing for about an hour, I'm not too much interested in it right now. Maybe I have to play more.

I loved the last two Halo games and I'm getting the Legendary Package for H3, but Gears I feel is more satisfying and more fun so far and way better looking. I had high expectations for the Beta, but I'm not completely satisfied. Can't wait for Spetember though

They do ! Bungie already said they will add all the final textures and lightning and stuff in the end;)

I can't believe the stubborness of Lemmings on this topic. Halo 3 looks average. It COULD run on an Xbox, and looks about as good as Halo 2 on PC. Beta to Gold has minimal graphical upgrades. Have you ever heard of Half Life 2? This game, believe it or not, actually had great graphics AND great gameplay. Infact I'm willing to say HL2 looks better, and is probably more fun STILL, than Halo 3 will be when it comes out.

You are giving the original Xbox way too much credit if you think it could pull of what Halo 3 looks like.

 Oh yeh lets make the rocket lancher even more Unbalanced and add a heat seeker to it! yehh like that really improves the gamplay, and at least in gears of war when you hit someone they actully get stunned , like in real life, unlike halo 3 when you hit someone they keep on running in shooting in a diff direction, this game is basicly a copy of Halo 2 with better textures and lighting cause it doesnt bring squat to the table like Gears of war did like chain sawing, body parts exploding and cinematic gamplay.
