I was playing skyrim just when i realised steam was hacked 0_0 i continued playing skyrim regardless lol

But does anybody notice any differences in pc and console version.

1 It doesn't run dx11 only dx9

2 any settings will run skyrim fine it's no crysis clone"

3 Mouse seems very unfriendly userface seems nice but bit intimidating when scrolling through all books, constellations, world map, weapons feels very much like kinnect or something. while oblivion had deeper userface and morrowwind you needed a degree just work entire thing out.

4 And all controls are more console simplied while i couldn't care if i use keyboard or controller But does any one notice differences in hardware i feel it's very easy run on any graphics card (gtx 460) card minimal specs for max settings

I see no difference except foliage stretching out distance and faster rendering that's about it nothing really you don't even neet a gtx500 series card or redeon monster run this seriously.

All Bethseda games have been console ports since Oblivion. :? I thought that was common knowledge.

It's been known for a long time that consoles was the lead platform, why should there be any surprises. There is nothing with the PC version but everything was designed with consoles in mind, not PC.

Doesnt make any sense at all, pop in oblivion - they actually play almost the same except that skyrim is way more improved/polished

It's a modern Bethesda game, it was designed for consoles and ported to PC.

Doesn't matter, modders will make it a PC game.

They said they were going to support DX11, DX9 only? From what I've seen PC version has much better textures (though some textures look the same), obviously better resolution, AA, AF.

And very quickly too. There are already some mods available on Skyrim Nexus.

It feels like a great PS3 game. Lol at all those $2000 PC's for a little Battlefield3 and Witcher2 graphics. Buying a Wii for Zelda is more profitable.

When I first used the inventory system, my reaction was "what in the name of gigantic balls is this?". Easily the worst inventory system I've ever used in a RPG. Very obviously a product of the console version.

Agreed. Even on a console it feels awkward.

Neither is profitable, unless your Wii can print money, in which case I'll buy it off you for some obscene amount. Besides, which TES fan gets Skyrim for dem gr4phiX1!1!!1? Mods are where it's at.

And I won't even talk about how you think a PC can cost 2k.

I'm guessing you must have an entry-level PC with integrated graphics that can't run uber-games.:)

My only problem is the mouse controls (I can't explain it, but it feels off at times) but still, it's more of a getting used to than something to sweat about.

Buggy too. If you switch 'R' and 'F' around for the ready weapon and camera, when you press 'R' to loot all, it loots all, but then it puts you in 3rd person mode. Pretty bad coding.

Honestly though, the game feels more like Gothic now with the smithing, grindstones, enchanting etc. Honestly, it's much better than Oblivion ever was. Also, I'm a Werewolf! :D

I watched a demo of Skyrim on an XBox 360 at Best Buy yesterday. The lower resolution was the first thing I noticed. But, the colors were vivid and the jaggies were inconsequential enough for me. I immediately thought of UC2. Why? I don't know. But, Skyrim on console looked good to me. As for feeling like a console game? Oh well. For me, that's trivial stuff. So long as the game is fun. Besides, I use an Xbox 360 controller for some of my PC games anyway.

Edit: For this kind of singleplayer game where I don't really need super rapid movement and turn rates, a controller would suit me fine. If that makes it seem like a console game, that's fine too.

Have to agreed with this. Inventory system is a step down from Oblivions and an even bigger step from Morrowinds. Can't wait for mods to fix this.

Getting it today. I think I'm gonna play with a pad because the interface seems designed for that.

Graphics didn't look amazing, but at least 60fps@1080p will be nice.

With much larger depth of field, really puts the console version to shame. Virtually no pop in and virtually no loading times. The console versions suffer from rather long loading times.

Oh lets not forget the glorious mods! Already started to fix the problems available on all platforms! I believe a new interface for PC will be out soon :)

I have not played the game, but from all the gameplay videos and screenshots I've seen, the artistic design looks great, but the technical visuals indeed look like they have been scaled to the lowest common denominator (consoles). Low res textures that have no depth and catch no lighting, incredibly low poly models, awful water, and a lack of Dx10, let alone Dx11 all come to mind.

It doesn't look as good as Witcher 2... yet I get about the same performance. Obviously not as well optimised.
