is it safe to say that XBLA is better than psn arcade?

It's about equal to me.

But XBLA has free Demos and Trails and junk while PSN sometimes has Video Gameplay and sometimes Demos.

For 2D games/side scrolling games, Dual Shock owns

Anyway, I think theyre about the same save for the fact that Aracde gets a influx of mroe stuff week to week I think, or it did back in the day alot more. So naturaly its going to have more stuff on it, but the ratio of good to bad is anotehr story. I hate how alot of PSN games dont have demos, and thats one thing i do applaud MS about with Arcade, making that mandatory since day 1.

Meh, arcade titles. Pizza is far superior to any of them.

I just started buying DL games.

With my 360 gone (RROD) i was looking around on PSN and......theres not really that much there. Where are all the DC games? Besides that, i remember wanting atleast 10 XBLA games a few years ago, theres only 1 that i want from PSN (flower) which ive bought now.

Luckily theres a ton of awesome PS1 games and im catching up on stuff ive missed out on. Quick question in regards to PSP transfering, does it move the game or copy the file?

But whats the ratio of good to bad for that amount of games? whats the big deal if most of them are crap? Better integration is completely opinon and i do agree that them getting a demo withe very game is great, however PSN has made strides for this and lately has been providing a demo for most of their DL games that are new.

And trial games are really important, becauses i've bought some crap games on Wii VC because I couldn't try them out first.

I'd definitely go XBLA, just a lot of really high quality games. I've recently discovered how awesome Banjo-Kazooie is, I'm on my first play through of the N64 port.

Next games I'm getting (In no particular order) are

Banjo-Tooie

Sonic 1

Sonic 2

Sonic 3

Sonic and Knuckles

Shadow Complex

Geometry Wars 2

Castle Crashers

Earthworm Jim

Snoopy: Flying Ace

and maybe the new Lara Croft and Scott Pilgrim game.

Xbox Live Arcade is better than Fakestation Network for two prominent reasons...

1. More and better games...uuumm Summer of Arcade anyone?

2. Hardly any demos!! (This pisses me off!!) I am not dropping down 15 bucks just to try a game. if there were more demos I think Sony would get more of my dollars. I cannot just go on word of mouth alone. Sorry. I made that mistake already with Crash Commando (is that what it's called? Lol I forgot). The ONLY game I am interested in is Joe Danger but even then I'm waiting for a demo.

But knowing Sony by the time I get a demo for this game it will be released for Xbox Live Arcade. They did the same thing with Fat Princess! I was interested when it came out but could not pull myself up to buy it because I wanted a trial version. Fast Forward..what? 6 months, 9 months or 12 months later and Sony finally releases a demo. But guess what? I am no longer interested and I've already moved on to the next hot game. THIS is why psn fails and why they will hardly get a hold of my dollars.

That means absoloutely nothing because you can just ignore the bad games. The PS2 had the highest bad to good ratio last gen, still had a crap ton more better games than the competitors.

I bought my 360 at launch, there really werent many noteworthy XBLA games in the first year, atleast not an amount that can make the 1 year headstart advantageous. It started hitting strides in 2008.

I think PSN arcade is better because of PS1 games.

Im not into the DL scene that much so I really dont care which is better. I only DL select stuff.

PSN has threw me a bone with PS1 games cant go wrong with the old skool tekken 2 and abe's oddesy :P

You realize that all new PSN games have to have trophy supprot dont you? and they integrate friends lists and all that, atleast to my knowledge. IF were going by new stuff, theyre about even when it comes to quality I think. but since arcade has beena round longer and did get better stuff back in teh day, yeah, overal I guess it is better. But for new stuff nowadays, both are getting great stuff and many things come out on both.

For Wii Virtual Console that's just your own fault for not researching the game. WiiWare I would understand a bit more.

Copies the file. For example, if you buy Soul Reaver on PSN, and copy the file onto your PSP, you'll have a copy on your PS3 Dashboard AND on your PSP memory stick.

XBLA has 1$ indie games so it instantly wins a million times over. I just love homebrew :)

I kinda feel bad about this topic becuase its really not even close. People that are saying PSN is better really just have not been on live and chatted on live. PSN is kinda a broken Mess at this point. Plus will fix it up soon enough I have high hopes for it!!!

....but I have a question. Does PSN plus guarantee a demo for every PSN title? If not it's still a big FAIL in my eyes.My biggest gripe with PSN is the whole lack of demo issue.

It looks as if they still need to work on getting in there. I have alot of issues with PSN. I did Live first for a long time but then I decided to get into PSN and i could not beleive all that I could not do on PSN that was on live. Simple things like Voice chat with people on your friends list on your Mic no matter what they are playing does not work (if it does i do not know how to get it to work), the Whole mic voice setup is a hassle on Psn where as on live it is designed with that in mind. Honesly the entire communication set up on Psn feels like its a afterthought at best (as you can tell this burns me up a bit). Also the Menu system on Psn looks like 100% crap in every way and the selection of content is not even close. Then the Demo thing........

What i want people to do is what i did. Turn on you PS3 look through the online stuff that it offers try to communicate with your buddies online with your Mic, then do the same with The 360 and live and then tell me what is better. It is night and day i mean crazy!!!

I really wish that Sony would just charge everyone 50 a year and then copy and paste the 360 features on to the Ps3!! Then it would be as good. This is a real case of you get what you pay for. The 50$ is well worth it with live.

The best downloadable games I've played have been XBLA exclusives, so I'll give XBLA the edge.
