Is it safe to say this year's GOTY will be a PS3 exclusive?

Beyond, The Last of Us, Puppeteer, Gucamelee, GT6 coming, God of War Ascension, Ni No Kuni, Thieves in time, Dust 514,

I think one of those just might land the spot and make for a happy ending to this gen, and some seriously pissed off lemmings : ) What do you guys think?

And that one is a HUGE contender.

Wow. What a dumb question. GTAV has this in the bank. Its a foregone conclusion at this point. There might be a few Last of Us wins since it is a new IP but the majority will be GTAV.

Exclusive? No, but a PS3 game? Yep. GTA5.

TLOU deserves the win, unfortunately GTAV will probably win.

GTAV will only win due to popularity and scale. Reality is TLOU, Beyond, and other unique titles deserve. If GTAV wins I'll take a 2 day break from system wars. Someone quote me on that.

well that's just your opinion. I'm sure there's plenty of people who think GTA V deserving of GOTY over Beyond or TLOU, or find none of them deserving

Last of Us got an 8 so it won't win here. Guacamelee is multiplat. Thieves in Time, Dust 514 and God of War stand no chance.

Realistically, on GS at least, Beyond and Ni No Kuni are the two PS3 exclusives that could do it.

But we also have Gone Home, Grand Theft Auto 5, BioShock Infinite (although McShea's 4 likely lowers that one's chances to win it all), Metro: Last Light and others still set to release that could very easily win.

It's safer to say GOTY will not be a 360 exclusive ;)

@John_Matherson: Totally NOT safe to say since Bioshock Infinite and GTAV came out this year. However it does stand a reasonable chance with TLOU. And some of the others you mentioned are possible sleeper contenders.

I am 95% sure a PS3 exclusive will win.. GTA5 will most likely be GOTY on a lot of other gaming website but NOT GameSpto, GamEspot GOTY's always end up going to a totally different game than most sites out there so in my opinion i can see either Puppeteer or Ni No Kuni winning on GS ( bot are PS3 exclusives ) while i think The Last of Us winning is like 90% chance while GTA5 has a 80% chance winning.

Gone Home while its a game i havent played i hear its a two hour interactive experience that has little gameplay ( surprised a lot of people want it to win because i thought everyone hated games with little gameplay and just interactive story lulz )

Super Mario 3d World could easily steal the show...lets not forget that games coming from the studio that gave us the galaxy games, which are regarded as some of the best games of all time.

Right now for me at least its between TLOU, Fire Emblem, Dota 2 and if it turns out to be as good as what we have seen so far the new Mario game will be in contention.

The Last of Us will get reviewed again hopefully and that will take it.

It was a good year that if you didn't own a PS3 you couldn't play the most high quality games of the year. If TLOU gets re-reviewed that will be a huge factor.

Hardly. There are a few AAA multiplats ( i would be surprised if GTA dont win goty ) also some more are coming and other systems ( except 360 ) also have AAA exclusives ( though i dont see europa universallis getting goty despite been great and getting AAA )

I find it very amusing people still include The Last of Us in their "GOTY considerations" lists. It scored 8.0/10, no game in the history of the single-game GOTY on Gamespot ever scored below 9.0.

Contenders are given an "Editor's Choice" award. TLOU doesn't have one. It might win for PS3 GOTY, but it won't even be included in overall. I'd guarantee it.

Sad to say,it will be no Xbox exclusive for game of the year.There's alway's next year for the Xbox One.

But last year some people said the same about Journey. "Never in GS history a $15 2h downloadable game won GOTY" And we all know what happened.

When has a call of duty game ever won GOTY? In fact when has any FPS won a GOTY this gen?
