Is it the PS3 hardware, or SONY is a bit slow at development?

do you think SONY is a bit slow at development?e.g. Killzone 2, GT5, Home.., etc..

if so, what do you think the reasons behind that? i mean, whom to blame here behind all those delays?

Both, plus arrogance.

Well, the most prominent excuse is that the ps3 is hard to develope for....which is true to some extent but I don't think its as bad as they make it out to be.

I don't blame sony on putting out games, but I personally blame the devs.

However, this is not to say that I'm too happy with sony's attitude lately either...its like they don't care...but meh what can you do? It's definately out of my control so I choose not to worry about it too much.

I think sony may have announced these titles too early in develepment. The reason for that is because in 05 and 06 the had nothing great out really so they had to create some excitment so they announced these titles far too early and now it just seems like its taking forever to get here. Sony has mmade some bad decisions in the last 2-3 years seems like they are getting there act together now though. poopiVONpoo

I dont think Sony is good at making software while MS is because they have more experience in that field. Just look at Sonicstage for example. When sony tries to make something, it takes a long time, or when its out theres many problems with it. Tjeremiah1988

Who's to blame behind the delays for Too Human, Alan Wake, Halo Wars? Microsoft?

Sony also has some exceptional stuff ot, like Uncharted, Resistance, Ratchet, Warhawk, etc.

You may have a point, about Sony's Hardware, but even the easier to develop platform suffers from delays.

did you get wowed by the cutscenes? when it hit gameplay, obvious difference in visuals. if that was realtime/in engine cutscenes.

Yall do realize that 3-4 years is about right for a graphics engine and game to be made right? Even Epic was working on the Unreal Engine back in 04, and possibly 03 and the first game on it I think was Geow in Nov 06 so about 3 or 4 years time for a game to be made on that engine.

So KZ2 is about right it was announced in what summer 05 and a game on that engine in Feb 09.

And most of the games that are taking that long are running on their on made graphics engine. Unlike alot of other games getting massed produced using a engine pre built and rented. But once their up and running like Insomiac has done, they will be able to produce games at alot faster pace for their sequels. But most of the time for a good epic experience it will atleast take 2 years of development for a game to hit retail, if not 3 years anyway.
