yeah it has a lot of games that may seem kiddy but honestly, anyone can enjoy them. Plus, it has the highest scoring exclusive (average) this generation: Super Mario Galaxy.

Imo, worth every penny. In terms of this board, if you found your way to SW then I would be able to make general conclusions about taste and to give you an honest answer, no. If you felt the need to come ask this board, its definitely not worth it.

Well honestly I wouldn't advise it unless you like Mario, Zelda and Metroid games. I mean they do seem to have a few other decent games like LKS and DSE but mostly they are few. If you like shooters or action games I wouldn't invest in one. I mean the Wii isn't bad but it really is just a last gen sytem with gimmicky controls and lots of party games.

Depends. If you care alot about graphics, are into certain genres, or hate motion control than I'd advise against it. I'd also advise against it if you like all your games to be gritty and realistic. If you're okay with decent but not OMGWTF graphics, motion controls, and less gritty games then yes, i highly recommend it.

Now is the perfect time to get a Wii. Like platformers? Super Mario Galaxy? Like old school platformers? New Super Mario Bros. Like horror? Resident Evil: Dark Chronicles. Silent Hill: Shattered Memories. Like RTSs? Little King's Story. Like party games? Mario Party. Wii Sports. Wii Sports Resort. Racers? Mario Kart. Excite Trucks. Need for Speed Nitro. Simulators? Cooking Mama, Trauma in the E.R., Science Papa. Boxing? Punch-Out! Like really old 8-bit and 16-bit games? Virtual Console!

For just about every genre out there, there's at least a few games each to satisfy your needs? Don't believe me? Just think about all the different genres you like and see what the Wii has to offer in each. I look through the Wii section on Gamespot and can't believe just how many games there are.

You'll hear negatives... but it's too kiddy... there's too much shovelware... it's for casuals. Well it may be true to some degree. All consoles have some of those negatives too to some degree. But you know, looking through the list of Wii games, I'm sure you'll find plenty of good games that outweight all the bad ones. My biggest complaint are the motion controls, but you know, we can't live in the past forever. Like many, I'll just have to learn to like'em. That's my only gripe with the console is getting used to the controls. But you have to admit, the good games are there, and I think the positives outweight the negatives.

What are you waiting for?!

Its simply not worth it. I got it when it first came out, it looked far better than it actually was. It has only a few decent games, other than that its terrible. It has bad controls and terrible online gaming. I later got a 360 and it is SOOOOOO much better like there not even in the same league 360 is just way better. Or PS3 for that matter. But I think 360 is better than PS3 but either one is better than wii defiantly.

I regret ever buying a Wii. Super Mario Galaxy was a fun game, but everything else seemed dissapointing. However the new Super Mario Bro's came out and If it's anything like the DS version its probably pretty good. Still I would advise against purchasing a Wii. It's just not worth the money in my opinion.

Most people have said the same things i will say. It is worth getting a wii. It has great games, but make sure they are ones you want? Its a fantastic party console, if u have friends over a lot, look no further. Zelda and mario and metroid are stables, but theres another good thing, and that is the VC for old school games, which is pretty decent selection. But yeah, if u want it as a party console - yes, if u want it for nintendo franchises - yes if you want it for shooters, the other consoles will fair better

Don't buy it. There's a rumoured Wii 2 to come out but besides that a lot of the games dont look as though they'd be fun for more than 5 minutes. Wii Sports specifically. Having SMG alone does not make it worthwhile!

If you have a 360 and PS3 then yes, deffinetly. The Wii has great exclusives. If you only had a PS3 or 360 I'd deffinetly suggest a Wii over the other console since the 360 and PS3 are so similar where as the wii is so different.

I would say absolutely yes!! the games on the Wii are a blast to play. I actually spend more time playing games on my Wii then I do on my PS3. Have more Wii Games too actually. Sure there are a fair few crap titles out there for the Wii, but lets be honest, what system doesnt have its share of crap games? There are many that are definitely worth playing though. And the Virtual Console is also well worth it. Playing the original NES mario games, Kirby, Zombies Ate My Neighbors, Bonks Adventure, etc

If you like the games, then yes. Because quite simply, thats all it boils down to. Some people want online FPS'ers and couldn't care less about a single player campaign. There decision would be an obvious one. Some people want... Scrap that! They REQUIRE CGI like graphics. Their choice should be obvious too. But if you enjoy most genres, and started gaming pre Halo, then you'll probably want to pick one up. People who refuse to play games that score 8.5 or lower will say different. They have young minds and do not know about what they say. The Wii has a ton of great niche games that fit all genres. Most of them scored between 7 or 8.5. They may not be as revolutionary as MW2... but what they do, they do well. Most of them are exclusive too. Even if you want a Wii to focus merely on retro gaming. You've got three great Mario games (The lowest scoring a 8.5) and a plethora of other side scrolling adventures. Heck, you've even got a ton of Point 'n Click adventures for that niche market that I personally love (And love my Wii because of it) I've got the 'cannot-say-without-being-banned' channel installed, and can play virtually any classic game from the pre PS2/Xbox/GC generation. Plus the VC, including Wii-ware games. For a retro gamer, it's nothing short of a dream. That alone makes it my most playable console. Again though, the games might not be for you. Since I own all three consoles, I've got the best of everything. I may be playing MW2 right now, but just a few weeks ago I had a blast playing through A Boy And His Blob. Now come this Sunday, I'll have a bigger blast playing through the new Mario. After that, I'll probably finish off Dragon Age. Ilove every style of gaming, I couldn't go through this gen without owning my Wii. Go through the reviews on here and IGN. Look at all the games that scored a 6.5 or higher. If a lot of them interest you, then you've got your answer. Bottom line, there should be plenty to love on the Wii for any well rounded gamer. And the best part? Since many of the games aren't widely popular, you can usually find them for under 20 bucks in any used game store. I was happy as a clam when I found Broken Sword, Nights, and Deadly Creatures for only ten Canadian bucks.

I'm more into the PS3 and Xbox 360, but Super Mario Galaxy is enough to make me glad to own a Wii. Besides that, there's Tiger Woods 10, Wii Sports Resort, No More Heroes, No More Heroes 2, SMG2, or others which you may like.

Yes if you like Mario, Zelda, & mini games. Personally I've lost my Mario appeal years ago, always hated Zelda, & don't care much for minigames. Any game on the Wii that I may be a little interested in, similar games that are considered just mediocre or good for other systems are better.

It depends on your game tastes. I rarely play it but that is mainly because I'm now focused on different kind of games than those the Wii has to offer. On the other hand, if you like what you've seen of some Wii games, then it might be a great purchase for you. If you have any friends, try to go to their place and try out some games.

Yes, it is worth it. The library it offers is far more akin to why I got into gaming in the first place. I enjoy meticulouslywell crafted single player experiences as opposed to games that just let you do whatever you want. I want to gawk in wonderment at the precise structure of a game. It makes a game feel tight. Games like GTA IV or Black & White never could hold my interest for very long.

the 3 first games I recomend above all else

1) Punch-Out!! (It doesn't get much better designed than this. Each opponent is at the VERY least 5 hours deep)

2) Metroid Prime Trilogy (Three very well crafted games for the price of one that use the Wiimote very well)

3) Super Mario Galaxy (This game will be replaced by New Super Mario Bros. Wii for 2D Mario is always far superior to 3D Mario IMO)

Also the Virtual Console is worth th price of admission alone! I still play Super Punch-Out!!, Super Mario World,Majora's Mask andSuper Metroid tons. It's also 100% garunteed backwards compatable withGamecube games. I still play my favourite game, Pikmin 2, a bunch!!!

Yes... but only if you really like Nintendo games and "out-there," quirky niche titles. There unfortunately isn't much in the way of "standard" core fare on the Wii. But you already own a 360 and PS3, so that's already more than well-covered.
