Is MGS4 graphics better than anything out for consoles as of now?

I never seen MGS4 in person as of yet but I have been hearing critics and consummers saying that the game is better looking than anything else on all consoles. Matter of fact, I have hearing that MGS4 made an official bench mark in console graphics and hollywood style production. I read in time magazine that MGS4 may have competed against the top hollywood block busters in recent years....IS THAT TRUE?

Is any of this true?

If all of this is true then does 360 stand a chance with those hollywood style graphics to compete with Gears 2?

MGS games are more aimed at the hardcore fans of the series and new comers find it hard to play these kind of games because of the confusing storyline, but MGS4 seem to be taking a new direction that it changed its gameplay to the better.

But do I think it is a system seller yes past games like MGS1,2 did pretty well with the exception to MGS3 which is a shame

But the series is not a seller like Halo, GTA, GT and other big titles.

First of all i am a ps3 fan and don care about 360. And i have to say that Gears>MGS4. MGS4 is only good for the story. there lots of games with better graphics than mgs4. GT5, gears, uncharted, ut3. ESPECIALLY GT5

Uncharted has overall better textures and stuff, Mgs4 has the best character models.AgentA-Mi6

Uncharted's textures are nothing special. Halo 3 has better textures, in my opinion, and so does Gears, but the overall enviroment is what looks great, the amount of detail in some things. I still find Gears to look better, but that is probably because I prefer the more wartorn landscape, but it is hard to compare a jungle to that regardless. Since the human eye is more attracted to color.

I own both too and MGS4 hands down beats gears in terms of graphics. In terms of artistic representation they are different games.

If you want to trade it because of MGS4 only then I suggest you don't the 360 library is way better than the PS3 at the moment imo.
