[QUOTE="SecretPolice"][QUOTE="SolidTy"] [QUOTE="TheKonspiracy"]I think only 360 was faulty, i don't think that Zunes or Xbox's had any major hardware problems.SolidTy
Now, they went bad. It wasn't aspublicized, because it wasn't a popular console. I owned TWO of them, and if you know me,you'd know I do EXTRA SPECIAL CARE for all my consoles. I even used a DUST COVER when they weren't in use.
The Xbox was built like a tank manand from my knowledge, MS PC peripherals were well made and reviewed well. I think the RRoD was a blunder but not indicative of their past or future record on making hardware.SecretPolice
NO, the XBOX looked like a Tank, it was shoddy from my experience with TWo of them...and I owned all the consoles, so it's not LIKE I was playing it night and day.
No, no, no the issue with dirty or damaged disk errors was a simple fix. For some reason it seemed the dvd lenswould get dirty especially ifyou smoked cigarettes in the home but if you take a cue tip with alcohol and clean the lens, all is back to normal. I know that's not a great thing but it wasn't something like RRoD; hardware failure.Hmmm...I do have air purifiers and I don't smoke (Nasty Habit, a form of population control if you ask me.).
You are right though, It's better than RROD, as I'm sure if I didn't have store bought warranties, I could have fixed either one of those.
I had the same problem as you did with the preowned ones I got, and I tried what Secret Police said with the Q-tip (taking apart an Xbox I'd just bought was quite a worrying feeling =S) and it did nothing. Some of the disk drives did just wear away after a while, so that you would get it play bits of games but then slowly stop playing the game as you got past a few load screens. Ninja Gaiden was the worse, it barely ever got to the title screen. My second one was terrible though, that didn't even get past the start of a game before coming up with the "Disk is dirt or damaged message" I think that laser was just completed ****ed.
