is microsoft saving pc gaming

Look dude, I don't know about you, but I'm not too geared up for a one year old port - looking at you Gears of War. If you want to show PC gamers that you still care, make it come out at the same time. PC gamers are fickle like that; "Why should we care about a port of a console game that doesn't compare to what we are getting". Show PC gamers respect, don't just give them some half a$$ed attempt to cash in on the hype of a game.

if you think about it microsoft is saving pc gaming, not that many developers choose to makes games for PC anymore and thats where microsoft comes in, they have about 3 game studios dedicated to pc gaming. and they buy exclusives tittles for the 360 and then they realease then on the pc and almost all the new pc games coming out are games for windows platform.So why does people have top talk crap about microsoft when they are actually helping pc gamers all over the world.ravinshield

..where did this come from? If anything has that title, it's Valve for introducing digital distribution on a large scale, not to mention excellent games.

No. GFWL looks more like an attempt to hurt PC gaming than "save" it, if they wanted what's best for PC gaming they'd be supporting Steam instead of trying to push their own half-assed system.

360 ports are not saving PC gaming, look at the sales, no one cares about them, they're too late. Without Microsoft paying for exclusive right they'd prolly be on PC anyway, and most likely sooner. Look at ME, MS would had prolly taken two years to port it, EA does it in half.

Then there's Vista which has been a letdown for gamers, together with DX10. The shameless promoting of Vista with "Vista exclusive" games is in no way helping PC. And for the latter dissapointment big thanks goes to 360 which is usually the lead platform and can only do DX9, ensuring that PC won't really be moving to DX10 era either before the next Xbox.
