Is Nintendo in the best position to impress, this E3?

I mean, think about it - Nintendo have had not even half of the hype that Sony and Microsoft have had coming into this E3. Without that hype, and the high expectations that go with it, I think it is entirely conceivable that Nintendo may impress a lot of people with new Wii information/games this year. For example, they could predictably show Metroid, Mario, and Smash Bros playable in some form, but they could potentially show off far more. What about Project H.A.M.M.E.R? What about Disaster: Day of Crisis? Or, Nintendo could announce a new DK platformer, or a new Pikmin game, or even give some information on the speculated new Zelda game. Or Suda 51 might show more about No More Heroes.

And if they don't do this? Well, nobody expected or hyped much, so Nintendo can't really let us down as much as Sony or Microsoft potentially could. Thoughts, anyone?

Well, obviously Sony SHOULD have a strong E3 this year *they'd want to, anyway*, but I think Nintendo could suprise everyone a little bit. Who knows? It'd be good for Wii owners if they did, but.

Yes, Microsoft and Sony have laid down some of their impressive cards on the table, it is time for Nintendo to step up to the plate.

Apparently Ubisoft have promised to improve the quality of their games on Wii.... After Far Cry: Vengeance on Wii, it's hard for me to respect them much... Though, I did enjoy Rayman Raving Rabbids on Wii, it was quite fun.

Ubisoft is weird. They made Beyond Good & Evil, are making Assassin's Creed... and other gems... yet they are capable of purposefully producing the worst digital crap ever. Ubisoft is really a love/hate developer.

I doubt Nintendo will show us much. I think everyone feels this way. TGS.

Well that's going to be hard to do, what with Mario Strikers Charged and Pokemon Battle Revolution both already out with online, and Battalion Wars, Madden'08, SSBB to follow.

imo sony has already won this e3 and hats off to them . they have only showed one game so far killzone and its looks way better than i ever thought . they have not even showed r&c , lbp ,lair , hs and all the other stuff they have yet. blackpretttyboy

I agree with you - Nintendo can't really acheive the "Wow" factor that games like Killzone and Halo 3 get with their crisp, beautiful graphics. So Nintendo has to impress other ways, and it'll be interesting to see if they can achieve this.

I think the only thing that could get Nintendo to equal Sony would be Super Mario Galaxy or Metroid fully playable, fully finished in the most incredibly crisp 480p graphics ever seen on Wii. That'd probably produce similar levels of madness.

All of this is why Nintendo is in the best position to impress. The Wii is 10x more impressive since it's beating the other next gen consoles when no one though it had even the slimmest chance. If it was going to destroy from day 1 it wouldn't be nearly impressive. We all know Sony's going to show some MGS4 stuff, and knew Microsoft was going to show some Halo 3. No surprise, and none of it was or will be impressive since it's all expected. The element of surprise is a sure fire way to trump anyone at E3, and Nintendo is really the only one that could have surprises. Time will tell though.

First of all i would like to say that red steel is underated, second of all IGN confirmed that it's not going to be at E3 in any form.
