With all the news about Forza 7 pc version being uncapped, it sure has gotten this pc gamer excited for the game. But also i'm starting feel sorry for the lems who are stuck at playing lesser version on the xb1x ( mid grapihcs settings stuck at 60fps), in which the game was made for.
Which brings up another question, Has MS quietly jumped shipped and head on over to the pc camp? and left the lemmings sailing to their deaths?
I think it is quite obvious MS is turning its focus back to PC. Their console is slowly turning to be an afterthought. MS revival of Age on Empires only for PC, their move of all Xbox exclusives to PC, the decrease on investment for first party titles and companies for the Xbox and the unification of the network is more than enough proof. I wouldn't be surprised if they factor the console out and stick to trying to compete with Steam and other PC services or keep the console but just as a backup not trying to compete in that area in a full way.

Why? It is just a natural progression of the industry. Actually in the future consoles, as we know them, are probably not going to become the norm but something closer to PC where you upgrade components or modules or the focus is on services rather than hardware. It's just clear for me that MS is looking at that future and betting for it earlier than others. I wouldn't be surprised if Sony ends up being third party company in the future either. But Sony still has a much bigger compromise with their console than MS and that's easy to see. MS seems to be caring less and less with each passing day which is why I think it is a waste of money to invest in them now. I will stop investing in Sony when they stop caring too.

Also why does it matter if the Xbox One X is stuck at 60 FPS? There's no monitors or displays available at 4K that offer a refresh rate beyond 60hz...

What I find funny is you laugh at a console for achieving only 30fps when the PC counterpart runs the exact same game at 60fps. Well I understand that your stuck at 60hz, but my monitor is 60hz at 5k and 120hz @ 4k so ..... /shrug
IDK how "obvious" it is that they're giving up on console gaming, especially since they've been digging deep in their own pockets to launch a new top tier console.
I mean, a PC version of a multiplat should always be better if you have the machine for it. Barring a shitty port here and there, that's just how it goes.
But I'm not gonna scoff at a 60fps console game. 60fps is great for most racing games. Most games in general really. And a console game hitting 60fps at 4k with that level of fidelity? Pretty impressive tbh.

Why Medium settings when earlier Forzatech X1X reveal has Ultra settings solid 60 fps 4K Ultra when GTX 1070 was dropping below 60 fps during wet track?
X1X was optimized for ForzaTech's wet track with 2MB render cache for it's RBE/ROPS path and wet track has heavy RBE driven alpha effects.
Umm, if Forza 7 is locked at 60fps on X1X then it doesn't matter what frame rate the PC is sporting because you're honestly not going to experience a difference in gameplay at that point.

Without games to fall back on, power is a pretty shallow talking point to loose one's mind over IMO but if it's all you have to look forward to I can see why it affect certain groups worse than others.

I would venture to say that there's still a somewhat noticeable difference between 60 fps, and maybe up to 90 fps. Supposedly for the vast majority of the population, that's where diminishing returns kick in big time. I only own a 144 hz monitor, because there wasn't a 100 hz monitor for less money available.
But come on, the difference when you go above 60 fps is nowhere near the difference when going from 30 to 60. Not even close.

I have a 1440p/144hz G-Sync display. However, I prefer to play FM6: Apex and FH3 on my 4K/60hz TV with my racing cockpit. I also played plenty of FM6 on X1 at 1080p/60fps and enjoyed it. So, the fact FM7 is doing 4K/60fps is nothing to look down on. The games that are running at 30fps are the ones that you guys should be shitting on.
HDR is going to be the biggest differentiator. Are they keeping hdr on console for an "advantage?" 1440/60+fps will be great, but 4k/hdr would be better. HDR really, really makes the image "pop." It's just beautiful. A poster above linked a pcgamer article stating pc WILL have hdr, but I've seen conflicting info on this. FH3 had no hdr for some reason (real letdown). It'd be nice to know whether it will have it or not.
