Is Playground Games Microsoft's best first party developer?

Rather the only good m$ developer.

I definitely think so. Despite my frustrations with the stability of their Windows ports, the optimization and fun factor of their games is phenomenal.

After Forza Horizon 4, I think so. The game is so good. And i don't even like racing games. It has that 'fun factor' that a lot of their first party games are missing. It's really just a fun game to play.

Perhaps. Personally I think them along with The Coalition and 343i are pretty much on par with each other. I thought Gears of War 4 and Halo 5 were both excellent games as well. I have very high hopes for their new studio, The Initiative, and think that Ninja Theory will do very well also.

The only good studio from M$, which btw will be making racing games until they die.

Saying it's Microsoft's only good studio is like saying Naughty Dog is Sony's only good studio.

Even though I’m loving the game on pc (4K 60fps ????) it just shows you how badly MS has fallen this gen. It’s sad to see racing game studios keeping MS above water, while There other once AAA franchise sank ? this gen.

Well your logic is pretty stupid when there is Horizon who made a 9, God of War cough , cough a 9 and Spider Man which is another 9 in Sony’s pocket. So yah the only good studio MS has this gen is Turn 10 and Playground studio which both are racing game studios. Gawd has the almighty fallen from grace this gen.

To be fair, at least with the Forza games, it deserves to be a partnership of T10/PG and in that light, yes.

The real story will be PG's new non racing game. Can't wait to see what they have up their sleeve and how well it's done.

It's Fable instead of a new IP though. They needed a new Fable factory since they shut down Lionhead. Fable is a terrible franchise and is only remembered for making promises it never delivered on.

I've seen the customization options in FH4. Every character looks like a hipster. That would completely ruin the game for me having to play as character models as poorly designed as that. Look at this shit:

GTA offers much more than driving. Can you fly a jet or chopper in FH4? Can you get out of your car? Can you drive a motorcycle?

And lol at comparing it to a cartoony game like Modnation because you know I'm right. The characters in FH4 are some mascara away from being a circa 2006 emo band.

Not sure what a game made by the Sleeping Dogs and MLB dev have to do with this.

I think so for now, the Ori dev is independent I think ....their games are just published by Microsoft.

I personally loved the gameplay changes 343 did to Halo 5, its one of my favorite shooters and it is not an easy task taking an established super popular series like that and making big changes and keeping old fans happy, and in that regard they did a phenomenal job but the campaign suffered.

Forza Horizon games seem to excel in all aspects and continue to push the genre forward with each new entry wth meaningful changes and additions.

Anyway, yeah Playground is definitely one of the best devs out there. I can't wait to see what they do with their other projects.

Yeah they are... but I hope that MS purchases them too (or at least signs them to a long-term contract). They are seriously good devs too.
