Look at the library - there could be enough games that you'll like that'll make the system worth it regardless if it dies in the future. If not, don't buy it until there are.
actually that is the thought behind my question because i am really looking forward to playing KZ2 and resistance as well as MGS.Look at the library - there could be enough games that you'll like that'll make the system worth it regardless if it dies in the future. I personally didn't like KZ2, but yeah, someone else mentioned that it's also a bluray player, so you can take that into account too.Look at the library - there could be enough games that you'll like that'll make the system worth it regardless if it dies in the future. thats another reason i am thinking about buying the PS in contrast to the Xbox, the xbox has no- free online, wifi, or blu-ray, i am just alittle scared that sony might back out like sega did, i was one to buy the dreamcast and be quit on. more than likely i am going to buy one, but i just hope sony doesn't back out on me. to get screwed once is to mistaken to be screwed twice is to be an idiot.its definately worth $400, you get wifi, 80gb hard drive, free online, wireless controller, and the best games and awesome blu ray, its worth every penny

I say yes! especially if you are interested in it's games. The only thing is, you may want to wait for a price cut (if you are patient), I know I would kick myself if I bought a system only to have it lowered in price in the following weeks. Oh, it will not pull a dreamcast on you Sony has made it a point to support their systems for over 5 years (PS1/PS2 is proof of that and PSP is still being strongly supported)
[QUOTE="LunchBox-"]Too expensive = no expensive =/= value the value variable is more subjective though sme people couldn't care about wifi or blu ray, for other it could be a crucial decissionPs3 is the best console/value this gen without a question

Then if you happen to want a Hard Drive for all that exclusive DLC the 360 gets, it'll cost you another $100. And a wireless adaptor, for the convenience, another $100... Hey look! $400!
That's not even including all the money you'll be dumping into XBL gold.
One AAAE the other is clearly multiplat.......as MLB 07 and MLB 08 were also multiplat, making 09 a multiplat as well. The market clearly disagreess with you. TIP: In a generation flooded with fps agmes, DONT make another fps  ..........unless its Halo :P[QUOTE="Lem-Risen"][QUOTE="Rhubarb9"]

But if you intend to play those online with the 360 it will start to cost you more in 4+ years, I use each one of my systems for at least 5 years (before PS3 and PSP since they have not been out 5 years).

Hey look! $400! exactly, microsoft pulled a fast one with the $200.00 price point, I remember buying my 360 i had just enough to get the console and a game, i bought oblivion and the guy at gamestop told me i wont be able to save my game, without another $100.00. I was kinda let down, because the xbox is touted as having the same capabilties as the PS but falls short in a few ways.[QUOTE="Lem-Risen"][QUOTE="Giancar"] expensive =/= value the value variable is more subjective though sme people couldn't care about wifi or blu ray, for other it could be a crucial decissionTheElfChild

Yeah i think i will just have to cough up the dough because I dont plan on waiting that long.[QUOTE="TheElfChild"]Then if you happen to want a Hard Drive for all that exclusive DLC the 360 gets, it'll cost you another $100. PS3 is clearly the better value for the hardware itself. Now the question is, will you like the games?PainIntesity
Another thing you might consider is Downloadable titles. Some of my favorite stuff on the PS3 has been the DLTs (Mostly because, during the school year, I don't have much time to play a disc game, and DLTs take a significantly less amount of time to play.)
I say that both the 360 and PS3 are worth buying. The PS3 is a very reliable console, the Blu Ray player is great (assuming you have a HDTV and are willing to invest in Blu-Ray movies), the exclusives are fantastic for the most part and the console is sleek, sexy and quiet.
In-built Wi-Fi, Blu-Ray, 80GB HDD, great games, gorgeous visuals; definitely worth the purchase if you've got the money.
I was hesitant to buy a PS3 at first too (owned a 360 for a year before I gave in) but its a great system. There is a solid amount of quality games already out and a promising lineup ahead. I really don't see the PS3 dying out considering how long Sony kept the PS1 and PS2 running.
I have made up my mind I am going to get a PS, but one more thing I like the games, Resistance, Killzone, and MGS, What games do I have to look forward to in 09, I have been a xbox guy up until this point, so i have no clue of whats next.PainIntesity

The former is a strategic multiplayer capture the flag game, and the latter is an open world superhero game. Other than that, I'm not looking at much (I don't need a host of games to keep me satisfied anyway though.) Based on your tastes, I recommend you check out Uncharted (Like a cross between Gears of War and Tomb Raider) and possibly God of War 3.

That's fine (I got one as soon as I could, so I will not get on you for being inpatient). I don't think you will regret getting one, I just hope you don't end up regretting the price (but I don't regret buying mine for $500).

I don't think i will because i plan on taking full adavntage of the system, I don't plan on buying Blu-ray movies as much as renting them. I went to hollywood video and they have specials sometimes where blu-rays are free to rent, the guy said it was a promotion of some kind.Just like to says thanks again, I got to go, be getting me my PS next pay check I have 500 bones but am gonna wait til i can Killzone to go with it. again thanks and see you on the flip side.PainIntesityNice game choice. It'll last you a good while with SP and MP.

It's definitely worth it. Don't get it though for just one game. I remember I was craving for an FPS, and got the PS3 a few months after launch just for Resistance. Check out the games on GS and see if they interest you. It's also a blu-ray player and has built in wi-fi unlike the 360. I also think the price is just perfect when you compare it to the launch price of $700 CDN.
