its really good for being free, of course xbl is better but its overpricedhalfnaked
cows can afford a $600 PS3 but not $1 per week:lol:
depends on what you're looking for. some would say a Honda Accord is "a better value" than a BMW 745i. But I tell you one damn thing: I'd rather drive the BMW...no, but PSN is overall a better value than XBL

its about the principal. No on else charges for online, yet ms thinks it can. PC doesnt. Wii doesnt. PC doesnt. MS does??? Anyway, i can use the analogy you all hate. 360 + 4 years of live = 600$ PS3 + 4 years of psn + 60gb hard drive + blu ray + card slots + wifi = 600$. Dont even try to argue about value.[QUOTE="gamergeekgeek"][QUOTE="halfnaked"]its really good for being free, of course xbl is better but its overpricedImallvol7

When it comes to online:Not to mention the ability to mute,avoid and file complaints against annoying little punks we've all come across at one time or another on XBL.
PS3 = Honda Accord
360 = BMW 745i
do you want "sufficient"...or do you want a "rich, enthusiast" online experience? You choose. I'll enjoy all of them, but there's no question about which one is the best designed, most useful, most efficient and entertaining online experience. Fanboys suggesting otherwise are grasping at straws. PC, Wii and PS3 don't charge for online, but none of them are doing what MS is trying to do by unifying the online service, providing tons of downloadable content, movies and more in a clean, solid package.
Wake me when I can talk to friends on my PSN master list without having to exit a game to do so. Wake me when I can substitute music on my HD with the in-game music. wake me when I can maintain conversations while switching games. wake me when there are achievements built into the games and other measurements of gaming successes that keep people playing games for longer.
I'll be sleeping. Oh, and playing VF5 :Dreams-Visions
Let me put it this way. If PSN wants to sink the XBL service Sony needs to step it up.DaysAirlinesEven if they tried to step it up. Microsoft will just kick it in gear and still be ahead of the pack. Sony should have did something a long time ago. They let this juggernaut (XBL) gain momentum it's kinda too late.

Runescape is a "better value" than World of Warcraft. . .yet which game would you rather play online? $4 bucks a month to play every 360 game that has online features, online is nothing compared to paying $15 a month for WoW. Yet over 8 million people pay for WoW. This is all fanboy fluff by cows. The truth is I get a quality online gaming experience for every game with online features, all for the price of a fast food meal a month. 1 game featuring good online gameplay on PSN means nothing since every developer is forced to host and build their own online networks. Resistance might be good but it's already been seen that developers would rather drop online support for the PS3 than have to deal with trying to host their own servers. If you're happy with free online but only a handful of games supporting it then go right ahead. But don't try and devalue XBL, because near every 360 supports online all for the price of $4/month. If I had to choose. . .it's a no brainer.[QUOTE="halfnaked"]its really good for being free, of course xbl is better but its overpricedgamergeekgeek

:arrow:.............So what you are saying that when XBL first came out it was as goods as it is now?

Just like MS will never the game library of Sony!!
The real value of XBL is that developers have a standard platform to put there on-line games on.
This means they don't have to pay, test or maintain their own on-line servers.
Which means a higher percentage of games on the 360 will have on-line play.
Sony should have started doing this years ago.
The statement "PC doesn't charge for online" makes absolutely no sense. There is no PC console. Online PC gaming is an incredibly diverse process and has various levels of support and fees. There is no comprehensive or unifying service. Xfire would be the closest thing but that's different than PSN and XBL.
Very true. And as far as I've heard, that's where PSN falls short as well. I personally hope PSN improves and does well, forcing MS to either drop the price of XBL or remove it completely. I don't mind paying $50 a year at all, as long as MS keeps expanding the service with new functionalities.The statement "PC doesn't charge for online" makes absolutely no sense. There is no PC console. Online PC gaming is an incredibly diverse process and has various levels of support and fees. There is no comprehensive or unifying service. Xfire would be the closest thing but that's different than PSN and XBL.

And nowadays, you can usually find XBL for a lot cheaper than $50 if you look hard enough (got mine from K-mart for $36, that store is good for something at least!). Check deal sites like slickdeals.net and fatwallet.com every now and then and you're sure to come across a deal. If XBL ever does become free, it would be cool if MS did something that converted your remaining XBL time to marketplace points :DThe statement "PC doesn't charge for online" makes absolutely no sense. There is no PC console. Online PC gaming is an incredibly diverse process and has various levels of support and fees. There is no comprehensive or unifying service. Xfire would be the closest thing but that's different than PSN and XBL.

Dammit, I voted "No" before I saw the "PSN sucks" part. It doesn't suck, but LIVE is better.enterawesome

both have their pros and cons..PSN is free all around...and XBL is not.
however XBL has a bigger selection of D/L games on arcade as well as being able to try out these games before buying unlike PSN.
but I know what you're gonna say Cows..."buh buh if sony allowed you to try out the D/L games before buying,the Ps3 would've been $999.99 instead of 599.99" :roll:

I know. It baffles the mind.Seriously, Cows just want to be cheap & try to say that PSN is the best online service just because it's "free."
PSN doesn't even compare to X-Box Live. It's like a blatant copy off of the original X-Box Live from the original X-Box. $50 for a year is chump change nowadays (that's about $4.17 a month), & that X-Box Live Gold has much more to offer than PSN. Online play is also better on 360 than on PS3.
Also, without X-Box Live, we wouldn't even be having Wiiware or PSN right now.
