MGS: Peace Walker sold over 400,000 copies in japan alone, what numbers do you think it will pull in america and of course Worldwide? or will it just be pirated to death....

Both the DS and PSP are hitting low points, the PSP moreso though.
The PSP still has a few punches to throw it seems.
MGS: Peace Walker (Which will no doubt sell great)
KH: BBS
Monster Hunter 3
Sony wasn't thinking smart with the PSP, I mean look at the at the lack of dual anolog sticks. Sony blatently ignored the community and went off to do its own crazy experiments. I think they wantet it just to ride on the Playstation name after the PS2.

They messed up bad on the PSP and PS3, the diffrence is they fixed the problems with the PS3, they made the PSP worse by releasing the PSPGo....
the psp isnt dead, it just hasnt had many great games come out but with games like mgs peace walker and kingdom hearts coming out it should start picking up again.

The Go was a good idea, untill they decided that all PSN games wouldn't go below $20. I enjoyed thte idea of Steam on the PSP, but after that, i wouldn't trust a first party online distributer. Just look at the Christams sales PSN and XBL had VS Steam, they were pathetic.[QUOTE="lordreaven"]

True, however sony wasn't willing to listen to fans again. i don't know about you, but i never aske dthem to make the PSP slimer and all the other stuff, i asked for a second analog stick, they ignored me so i sold my PSP after the 3000 came out realizing sony didn't care for it.They messed up bad on the PSP and PS3, the diffrence is they fixed the problems with the PS3, they made the PSP worse by releasing the PSPGo....

PSP hasn't been making money. It has horrible HW sales month over month and the worst SW sales month over month. It is pretty much not just dead. It has died 2 years ago. PSP2 should be released soon becasue that stench of psp and its suckfest in terms of software, controls (dual analogue stick), sound (the sound breaks after 2 hours), battery life (the hardware last 5 hours), and the fact that it gets scratches make it a huge disappointment.
Before you open your mouth, actually look at Sony's financials. PS3 is losing money. Only the ps2 and psp is making money.PSP hasn't been making money. If the PSP was "dead," Sony would have discontinued the system years ago. As it is, it sold more than 50 million systems worldwide and is a competitor against the DS in Japan.
Once 3DS comes out it sure won't have much point. I mean why make games like Peace Walker on the PSP only when a 3DS port works easy?
Since the 3DS will be as powerful as GCN if not more it can handle all PSP games, so i really see the 3DS getting the nintendo-centric portable titles while getting much more of the PSP-ish portable HOME console attempts too
its definately not dead for me with upcoming titles such as
MGS: Peacwalker
GOW
Parasite Eve
FF
Kingdom Hearts
Modnation Racers
VC2
Monster Hunter 3 :P
and maybe a SF4 version :)
I pretty much only play my psp twice a year, when games that interest me come out. I don't much care for MGS, so the next game I'll be playing for it will be KH:BBS. Still glad I have one though, for those few games..
Only in the way that more developers need to make use of it. A games system does need constant support. it's almost an attractive prospect, but it's being supported a bit like the GameCube (not literally).
It's not dead, wince there are quite a few high profile releases coming. It just hasn't had the support in NA that it could have.
The reason that the PSP can't be a great system is the lack of a second analog. Think of all the 1st and 3rd person games that could have been WAY better if there was a second analog stick for camera control. It's been frustrating the hell out of me for a few years now. And instead of working around that and making more games that work well with the controls it does have, developers are still pumping out 1st and third person action games and just electing to use the left shoulder button to center the camera.
Think about the battlefront games. They would have been SO MUCH BETTER if you could actually aim where you were shooting. Sony should really take heed and make their next one with 2 analogs if they want it to be taken seriously as a gaming console.

Um, maybe the DS has just hit a low point, I don't know, but it's the bestselling system of all time and has a very impressive library, with more promising games on the way. The PSP has always been in a kind of a lull, but it has some great games, with big ones like FF Agito XIII, Birth by Sleep, PE: 3rd Birthday, and Valkyria Chronicles 2 coming out.
Don't be surprised when 3DS ships with a underclocked Tegra and doesn't have GC quality graphics.Once 3DS comes out it sure won't have much point. I mean why make games like Peace Walker on the PSP only when a 3DS port works easy?
