inb4 old over zealous Resident Evil fans wanting "survival horror."

I'm a huge resident evil fan. And I appreciate the changes made. I don't give a flyin FFFFFFFFFFFF just give me more resident evilThe reason games like RE5 and RE6 happen is because when publishers realize that their fans will buy the games no matter what, they start wondering how they can rope in other customers and thus they abandon the original thesis.Resident Evil 4 happened because the producer was out of ideas for the old formula, and wanted to do something drastic and new that hadn't been done before. With RE5 and RE6, Capcom just wants Call of Dudebro players to pick it up because "the zombie action looks cool." They know the fans will buy it regardless, which is why the fans will never get a good Resident Evil game again until they start exercising their buying power against it.
Imagine if XCOM fans had been as complacent as Capcom fans when that dumb FPS got announced. If they had just said "It's XCOM so I'll buy it" then it would probably be out by now instead of facing the cancelation block, and I bet that XCOM: Enemy Unknown, which is a true and legitimate XCOM game, would probably have been a $15 downloadable title that got no promotion at all. I wish Capcom's fans would react that strongly against the dumb things Capcom does, but they are too busy gushing over the latest Street Fighter X Tekken unlock keys or whining about Dante's hair color to actually take action over anything improtant.
I doubt it'll be call of dudebro. But it happens sometimes. Xcom has been gone, resident evil hasn't.
