absolutely yes.

it's a standard that should be included in all controllers without a question. It's just something that you have to have.

I hate to be the starter of a fire, but this is sony. They botched the whole PS3. They are gonna have a hell of time catching up. The price, droping of rumble, not many exclusives... the list goes on, so why r us gamers supposed to care? Sony has made its desicion, and i am srry, but they could have killed there playstation franchise. If they were going to be like a normal corp. then they could have maybe wiped the floor with the big N and Microsoft, but no so much no more.

Alot of people refused to buy a PS3 when they heard it had no rumble so this can only be good for SONY.

Its pretty standard for consoles, rumble adds sensory awareness for things  such as: if you hit something with a sword the controller should rumble to let you know you hit it or if you've been shot from a certain direction  rumble lets you know. PC's don't need rumble because they can hook up to insane sound systems. (like playing COD:2 with hella bass and sound :))

Sorry man, but I create a thread about once a week, and I try to make it originial.

I personally don't think its needed, but the option is nice. It all depends in the developers vision.

I can still play games without rumble, so it's not needed. But it is a nice plus.

Well back in the day it was an innovation, and I really liked rumble but now I really don't mind it much to the point I turn it off in certain cases. But it seems that ,many ppl still like it and I guess it should be standard.

Well, rumble + motion = a whole new gaming experience.  What more can be done to amp up the interactivity of video games?  Well, we're waiting for your ideas, guys.

I agree, games like the MGS series need rumble, theirs nothing like suspicious guards  in the same room as you while your hiding in a locker feeling the rumble pound away like a heartbeat.

Ahh, yea getting caught and sudden rumble and how the 2 rumble weighs, vibrate differently in some cases.

But still some games use rumble in a mindless way.

I can't wait to see how many of the sonyfans who laughed at Xbox 360 controller for having "last gen rumble" will now be talking about how awesome the PS3 controller is with its rumble. Hypocrisy will abound, count on it.

Absolutely. The only reason that Sony said Rumble wasn't necessary was because they still haven't worked things out with Immersion yet, and now it's kind of late. What about the hundred of thousands of PS3 owners with the original Sixaxis controller? Are they going to have to buy a new $50 controller if Sony releases it? Sony should of dealt with this problem sooner and not lie to the public and media about it and saying that Rumble would interfere with the motion sensing while Nintendo could easily put those two features together.

I wouldn't call it last gen or next gen for that matter, I call rumble worthless.  For me it was nothing more than an annoyance, the first thing I did in every game was turn rumble off with the exception of Prince of Persia where it actually proved to have a use.

Well what about the million of other players that are going to miss rumble? It's nice having rumble because if you don't like it you can just turn it off instead of having no rumble at all.

for racing sims yes and its kind of needed for acarde racers but everything else is fine without rumble. fps work best with k/m so its not need for that action games it can be useful if its not over used and sport games it is nice to have but not needed.

Rumble isn't last gen (it came out the generation before last actually) and if it was how come both Microsoft and Nintendo both use it in their current systems. The only reason people say it's last gen is because Sony decided to have a tilt axis controller and then couldn't work out how to put rumble in again. If they can fix it's then good. There's so many games that use rumble in a good way, MGS for example and if you remove that the game will not be as good fun to play.

Also you said that you have a feeling that their would be a lot of converters because of Sony putting in rumble. I'm not sure about that. Converters if they drop the price yes.

psssssssst He was talking about how the SONY rep. guy Phil said that rumble was "last gen." and that "motion sensingis this gen.". And is rumble needed, no. It isn't a necessity, but **** would it lose a lot of immersion and gameplay mechanics.
