Yakuza is a shenmue wannabe.Actually they're still pumping out good games like Valkyria Chronicles, Yakuza 3, and Sakura Wars.

They've been a shadow of their former glory for years. They're not pathetic per se, but they are something of a joke. Publishing games like Alpha Protocol and The Conduit and releasing rehash after rehash of poor 3D sonic games.
They should release a new proper shining force. Not an action rpg, a strategy one like they were in the beginning.
Sega has been awesome this gen with Valkyria Chronicles and Total War, and that's just to name a few. Releasing Dreamcast games on XBL and PSN does not make them pathetic. If that was the case, then Nintendo should be utterly pathetic for their Virtual Console.

Yakuza is a shenmue wannabe. That's true, but it's still good. Funny how sega set the bar high w/Shenmue and now they themselves fell short of it!Sega has always milked people for the nostalgia they have of old games. I mean, their first batch of Sega Ages re-releases started on the Sega Saturn. My only concern is they will re-release Sonic a hundred times, while never thinking to port rare/highly sought-after games like Panzer Dragoon Saga.
Nope, its just another RAREware situation where theyre just not as good as they were before (although theyve fallen harder than rare).
I think theyre having their best year this gen (Yakuza 3, Alpha Protocol, Valkyrica Chronicles 2, Resonance of Fate, Bayonetta, Sonic Colours)
And ive just finished Valkyria Chronicles, instant classic. Its up there with the very best of SEGA and its developed in house.

Im still waiting for HD versions of Daytona USA 1 & 2 and Scud Race with online play. Sega seem to be scared of the money those games could make them.
They're in a similar situation to RARE at the moment where they have some classic franchises that seem to have been forgotten by them. Wheres my Panzer Dragoon, Crazy Taxi, Jet Set Radio and Shenmue games SEGA, what happened man, you used to be cool :D
Have no problem with the dreamcast ports on PS3 and 360 but will they sell well enough? most of the hardcore dreamcast fans still have a dreamcast so i wont be buying any of these.
it depends. sonic is a garbage franchise and most people associate it with sega, so its easy to fall into that mode of thinking. combine that with hilariously bad releases like the conduit and its easy to see why sega is considered so awful. the people who still defend them for games they released like five to ten years ago are wht really make sega look pathetic, though.
but they released bayonetta and valkyria chronicles, two of the best games this gen. thats got to be worth something.

Nah they learned their lesson they are not stupid anymore they wont give a game that doesn't sell much a high production value like they did with Shenmue they invested $70 mils on it yet few people bought so now they dont want to repeat their mistakes with Yakuza.
[QUOTE="Bigboi500"]Yakuza is a shenmue wannabe. No it's not. Shenmue 1,2 and the Yakuza titles are completely different games, not evenin the same genre lol. As for the topic they have put some good games that they actually developed and some of the titles they've published lately were pretty good especially Bayonetta.Actually they're still pumping out good games like Valkyria Chronicles, Yakuza 3, and Sakura Wars.

Milking Dreamcast games while everyone else is living in the now.Tony-BaxterPeople loved the Dreamcast. Sure, they're milking but people want this milk. SEGA as a whole though, compared to their Genesis days, yeah, they're not doing so hot. But compared to earlier this gen and late last gen they're doing better. Bayonetta was a good game. While Alpha Protocol didn't meet expectations it was a nice effort. I hear Mad World and Yakuza were good. Put simply, at least they're trying and putting stuff out there other than Sonic. Still, they could be doing better.

Sega only publishes Total War games, its developer is Creative Assembly.
bad management decisions, i honestly think that if they waited a year or 2 to come out with the dreamcast, then they would have put a dvd player in it, as well as double analog sticks, and done very well with the dreamcast, therefore being still alive in this current generation with a dreamcast 2.
Waiting two years wasn't going to help them. Sega was in trouble since the 32 bit. (It just got worse and worse after every gen fro them)bad management decisions, i honestly think that if they waited a year or 2 to come out with the dreamcast, then they would have put a dvd player in it, as well as double analog sticks, and done very well with the dreamcast, therefore being still alive in this current generation with a dreamcast 2.

Agreed. Especially with the opening sentence.
