Is Sony truly "last"? Or does Nintendo just have the high console sale

The only thing Nintendo is good at is selling their console, but they can't get 3rd parties to make decent games for the Wii. From what I could tell, third party PS3 games sell better overall than 3rd party Wii titles. Sure there are some exceptions (such as Tiger Woods Wii), but overall this looks to be the case.

Take Madden 10 for example, they can't sell this title on the Wii because it's dumbed down with less features and touches that used to make the Madden series great (no rain in Wii version? lol).

What evidence do u need? The actual ewvidence I can give you stems from NA only. I don't really feel the need to compare NA to Japan since it completely destroys it in units sold. Europe is unknown. One sec, let me get my chart.

In the Unites States, ever since the launch of Wii, overseas software publishers have actively been developing their Wii software. There are several million seller titles from the third parties. NPD data has made clear that, in the calendar year of 2008, Wii was the hardware on which the biggest number of third party software were sold in the U.S.

And since the PS3's price drop came THIS year and not 3 or 2 years ago that puts a dent in Sony and since there is a lot of Multiplat games for both PS3 and 360 looks like the 360 wins because a lot of people bought it for being Cheaper at the time. Now it's pretty much the same but you know....it's just sales figures...

Nintendo's audience is like someone said, the Wii Fit crowd who will only buy 1 or 2 games.

The opening was talking about sales, thus I talked about sales. That's all there is to discuss on that matter, not constant sales whining by last place fanboys.

Also, as much as I know its cool to be an elitest, not all kids want to play Demon Souls or Splinter cell or even SMG. That's there right. If shovelware was selling in droves to begin with you may have even had a point.

Many of the people with PS2s do not give a damn about gaming, don't kid yourself. You don't need to give a damn about gaming to be relevant to the industry. Get over yourself.

If you met all 140 million PS2s out there I might care for your opinion on the matter. I haven't seen a grand parent play the Wii. I know they are out there though.

Microsoft and Sony are attempting to tap into that market as we speak. Nintendo was smart and took the initiative to get the non-gamers' attention first and it's paying off big time for them. It's not like any foul play was involved. Nintendo just played their cards at the right time and place.

I still love the Virtual Console and WiiWare system. Though I wish the System had a bigger upload and download rate so the Wii can get games like STreet Fighter HD Remix and MVC2.

so wait a second, you actually stare at the screen while you download something? dont you put the TV or go do something else? cuz I do, I turn the TV on, then after lets say 30 minutes I like to put the download to see how is it going just to check, I will definitly rather seeing a "30%" instead of mario running and 1 block broken, I dont know how long has it been since he broke the first brick, I dont how far he is to destroy the second block. As a gamer and and owner of all systems I like to see all my systems do well .... sucks to see my Wii lagging sooo behind. Nintendo needs to step their game up.

All you should care about is whether or not it downloaded. I just put my opinion out there saying that Nintendo's "Download bar" is more entertaining than the other load bars.

I personally just look online or talk to my siblings or do something else when I download something but Nintendo Wii takes shorter time than the PS3.

and honestly if you saw your Download bar at 30% you would just turn the TV off again. just like you would see if only 1 box had downloaded.

What happens if the Download finished? Will you care how long it's been done? no you would start playing the game.

Actually, Madworld and The Conduit are at about 300k. Extration is apparently at 60k or so. But even then, do you some how think only 3 games were released for the Wii by third parties? Also, do you honestly care if The Conduit sold less than 100k? I certainly don't, it was thoroughly mediocore.

This inherently doesnt matter because no download on the Wii takes more than 30 minutes. They are all within 10.

All you should care about is whether or not it downloaded. I just put my opinion out there saying that Nintendo's "Download bar" is more entertaining than the other load bars.

I personally just look online or talk to my siblings or do something else when I download something but Nintendo Wii takes shorter time than the PS3.

and honestly if you saw your Download bar at 30% you would just turn the TV off again. just like you would see if only 1 box had downloaded.

What happens if the Download finished? Will you care how long it's been done? no you would start playing the game.

In all honestly, i prefer a figure. it gives me better judgement on how much time more it will take before completion. And let me give you another reason. My download speed fluctuates up and down a lot. So withdetailed information, i can calculate my download speed. Sometimes it's 200kb/s, and sometimes it may be 20kb/s. So no, for me, I'd like to know much more than just whether it's downloaded or not. i'd like to know how fast it's progressing.

Here come the sheeeeep run for your lives! But seriously in a gamers eye Nintendo is dead last .... they're not getting the third party support everyone thought they would once the Wii was selling ridiculously good ...

The thread is about sales, not consumer reception. If we were talking about that, we all know who would be first and who would be last.

I like to check, I like to know how far is the download from finishing, it helps you to arrange your "schedule" (if you are a person with one, like myself) and btw when I said "put the tv on" I was talking about watching TV and then periodically check how is the download goinglightleggy

It's a rhetorical Question! Why do you want to calculate what your Bit rate is? Arrange your Schedule???

All that matters is whether or not the game downloaded! if you don't have time to play a game but you're downloading the game it won't matter how long it's been since the game has been downloading!

I once started downloading the Demo of Bayonetta on the PS3 and left to go to Walmart and get something to eat and came back and the demo was still downloading!

What matters is if the Game Downloaded or not.
