I've seen alot of LBP commercials since its release, more then Gears or Fable

I've also seen some Motorstorm and R2 commercials and some commercials that are all about PS3 and Blu-Ray not just a specific game

But unlike Gears or Fable, that LBP commercial doesn't even tell you that it's a game called Little Big Planet.

Are we talking about the same commercial ? The one with the guy in a back-alley and game footages start appearing on the walls ?

At the end, it only said "Playstation 3"...

Advertising for games like Motorstorm and LBP have been largely non exsistant before now. It wasn't until about yestarday I saw an advert for LBP, and now I'm seeing lots. I guess they are trying to hit hard at Christmas. Yet to see an advert for Resistance 2 or Valkyria Chronicles though.

MS advertsing is all over the place, and their campagins work quite well, but they seem to be heavily geared towards a casual auidence. I have been seeing alot of adverts pointing at games like, "Lips" and "You're in the movies" (Or whatever it's called). That's what will sell the consoles. The only thing Sony can do is really advertise LBP and Home alot, and it's only until recently that they have started.

In the UK their advertising has improved recently. I've ads for LBP, the PSP and multiplats like Smackdown vs Raw and Mirror's Edge that only mention the PS3 versions.

It might be the one I have seen in the UK. It's basically a level that looks quite nice and what not, but it usually has some sort of dark twist behind it. I've seen two like it. The adverts are ok, but I have my doubts they will do very much. They don't really give you an idea of how the game will work.

it is quite possibly some of the worst promo/marketing ever devised in the history of marketing/advertising

In the UK they are advertising but don't for example use Stephen Fry's voice over for the LBP ads which, given he is highly reverred here, would add much kudos to the ad.

However, both MS and Ninty have far stronger advertising campaigns, the Wii/DS adverts arguably being very twee but using very famous people to advertise them.

Are you on crack, improved. PS3 Advert has got to be the most rubbish i have ever seen for LBP.

Sorry it doesnt want me to go out and get it. However Im no 360 Fan but the adverts are much better than ps3.

same here. There are actually more Ps3 ads than anything else where I live. LBP, Guitar Hero: WT, Singstar, PSP And the Ps3 is advertised with every BluRay. (Dark Knight, Hancock etc.)
