Is SSB an AAA franchise?

I have just been wondering if Super Smash Bros. counts as an AAA franchise here on GameSpot since there has been a lot of confusion lately and with that I mean...a lot. What sparked this question was the following post from AvIdGaMeR444 to which I replied, but he never replied back.

Remember when cows said that Uncharted counts as an AAAE title because it has 89.942% on GameRankings? Furthermore, don't lemmings constantly reinstate that Forza 2 is an AAAE game despite only having 89.768%? If we are going to play by those lame rules, Super Smash Bros. Melee is a definite AAAE title as well because it received 89.850% which is more than what Forza 2 has and lemmings already count that game as an AAAE.

So going by the logic presented above and to avoid hypocrisy on the lemming and cow side, Super Smash Bros. Melee counts as an AAAE, thus owning AvIdGaMeR444. You could avoid ownage by agreeing that games that are however close to being AAA are still not AAA, though.

So does SSB count as an AAA franchise? Do Uncharted and Forza 2 count as AAA games? Are we still going by GameSpot despite everything that has happened? I have seen numerous mixed opinions on this so I have no clue. Please clear me up.

Theyre not an AAA series on Gamespot, even though they are widely regarded as some of the funnest games ever. Even though I love Melee, I guess it's not AAA because its single player isnt great. However, Brawl looks to change that, as well as adding countless other features.set101

Super Smash Bros. is an insanely good game. A number score for the series is a little bit misleading, though, because the games, although fun, have virtually no single player value.theheavydrinker

Dude, what? I spent hours unlocking every last level, character and trophy in Melee. Anybody who says that Super Smash Bros. does not have any single player doesn't seem to know much about the games.

I got to play the Wii over Christams and I got to say that it's a piece of crap. I don't get why people play or want one of them.will_work4food

So if cows declare Uncharted an AAA game despite only having received an 8.0 on here, then sheep have the definite right to declare Super Smash Bros. Melee an AAA game with its score of 8.9, thus making Super Smash Bros. an AAA franchise, right?

In my book, yes. By the trend of the series so far, the next game should reach a 10. But to be realistic, I'll say 9.0.
