Anyone who says this isn't a real fighting game is just in denial, or hypocritical. Most people that say it's not a fighting game because it doesn't copy traditional fighting formula, yet complain about games in other genres when they just stick to the formula.

This is exactly what i thought. People hate SSBB because it doesn't stick with the regular formula. Yet they always complain when aseries or genre is too much the same.

because it's not a fighting game, it's a pary game.

It just makes people who like the game feel good to say it.That dosen't mean It dosen't take skill to play, butthat dosen't mean it' a fighting game because it requires some skill. Final Fight and Double Dragon are a couple of games where you "fight" other people and require"skill" to playbut that dosen't change the fact that they are Beat'em ups dose it?!.

I cant find a link personally, I believe it was said around the time the game was released which was awhile ago, but my main point is that its not to far fetched to call the game something other than a fighter if some of the developers behind the game would agree.

Of course it is a fighting game.

It has judo rules, basically requiring you to throw your opponent out of the arena. I would say sumo rules, but sumo is just judo for large, rotund people.

Ok, when you're King Dee Dee Dee, then it's sumo, but when you'r samus, it's judo.

It's a fighting game but I think there should be a new new for it's genre. Look at Turtles: Smash Up same type of game but it's not a normal fighter. There really should be another name like party fighter or something.
