I'm thinking about getting back into it. I played about 6 hours at launch. Has the game been improved? Do people still play it? Let me know your thoughts, SW.

If you have the game at launch as you said you'll do then why the hell you need to post this?! Go play it and find out for yourself.
I actually thought it was fun all the way through. I played the whole story mode by myself so it gave me a good chalenge.
Once I did that though and most if not all the major side missions I traded it as there is little to nothing to end game wise.
@mjorh: everyone says that...I think I'm the only one that enjoyed it solo.
I'm not sure tho, i started playing it with my friend and we had so much fun with it, then i decided to play it solo for a while and it wasn't satisfying, maybe if i had started solo from the get-go i would've felt differently.
I also played it solo and enjoyed it alot, until I reached the end of the story, at first the PvP was doable solo, then they patched the game and made single player extraction impossible and reduced the penalty for player killing, solo mode after that was impossible to enjoy. Not sure if they have patched it but games tend to forget about the single player.
I got a good 40 or so hours out of it though.
I havent played it since late April but the changes to the dark zone back then turned me off greatly, before that the game was pretty awesome but as of now I can't really say.
That patch to the Dark Zone supposedly completely ruined the point of the whole Dark Zone pvp they were going for.
It's a good game to play through on your own and even better with friends but it gets boring, grindy and repetitive.
A couple of my mates got hooked (BF1 can't come soon enough) and if I want to spend time gaming with them, it's the division they're playing so I have 341 hours logged in the game. I do struggle to start it up but having a laugh with my mates cancels out the fact I've been bored to tears with the game for several months now.
I find the co-op enjoyable. Especially the new underground missions, as the loot is really good. The dark zone is a very weird place though. I occasionally go in there to either loot a named enemy, or to visit one of the venders, and depending on who I'm with greatly affects the experience.
If I'm alone... It is a legit scary place to be. Avoiding npc patrols, and avoiding attention is a must. Nothing more tense than a group of other rogue players heading your way when you're alone.
If I'm with a group, then the whole experience is different. We're not afraid of anybody, because there really is safety in numbers. Of course all it takes is for one OP player with his sticky pulsed to hell and back to wreck all of us, and ruin it. Lol
It was moderately fun up until I hit a single player content wall. The Dark Zone areas are also fun if you have other people to play with. Unfortunately it hit a content wall with me. I didn't bother with DLC but I pretty much gave up after their first big free expansion. It was bad, wasn't well designed, me and a couple friend were unable to progress through it. Basically after that I was like "f*ck this shit" and pretty much stopped caring. I had a good bit of fun with it. It won't have any online you can see yourself playing for months, but you can waste a few weeks on this game before putting it to rest. It's okay. If you don't have friends with the game to play online with then I wouldn't bother.
I played it for a while at the main launch, enough to beat the game and play a few end-game runs.
It really was not a good game. Not bad, but not good. So many poor design choices and half-assed elements really take away from the experience. Mindless, repetitive enemies with way too many hit points, tons of grinding, boring item drops, a completely disjointed story that goes nowhere, poorly conceived pvp, plenty of bugs, and small but numerous frustrations.
It's sad because I really like the studio, and there's plenty to like, but there are too many bad decisions that went into making it.
To be fair though, I have not touched it since Dark Souls 3 came out, so maybe it's amazing now and I just don't know.
