anyone who says no or gamecube advance is just plain ignorant. if its the gamecube advance, the the 360 is x box advance, and the ps3 is ps2 advance. it is current gen along with the 360 and ps3.HappySunnGuyIf you want to be a literal nit-pickier like I am, you could say that it wouldn't be Advance.
See, Advance refers to Gameboy Advance. Its leap in graphical power was from NES-caliber to SNES-caliber. This is not the case for the Wii. However that is the case with the XBOX 360 and PS3. ;)
Why not? It is their latest offering and replaces the GC.
People seem to have this ridiculous notion that there is some sort of line that must be crossed before something is considered "next-gen." That is just stupid if you ask me.
The Wii is the next console from Nintendo. I find it laughable that next-gen should be purely based on graphics. The 360 offers nothing new from the Xbox other than graphics and it is called "next-gen". But the Wii offer new controls, bult in Wifi, built in HDD, channels, and virtual console downloads - none of which the GC offered - but people say it isn't next-gen because the graphics aren't some big leap.
hasnt played prime 3 im sure, while the game as a whole wasnt a huge leap, the control scheme was exquisite. Wii FPS FTW!!!imdawiinner
No i havent played it nor have any plans in buying it. I've seen some pics comparing Metro 2 on the Gamecube vs. Metro 3 on the Wii.You kinda have to stare at the pictures for awhile until you noticethe difference, Yeson theWii it does look better but not mya lot. Compare Metal Gear Solid 3 for the PS2 vs. Metal Gear Solid 4 for the PS3 andright away you can tell the hugeass difference, same with other gamesontheXbox 360.The Wii should be sold for around $169.99... $249.99 seems to expensive for just a gaming machine... I guess it all depends on the style of games that you like.... What ever system makes you happy.

So? Don't judge games with your eyes, judge them with your hands, i.e. by their GAMEPLAY. Last I checked, gameplay was what games were about, and of all the so-called "next-gen" games to come out in the last two years, Metroid Prime 3 (and, to an extent, Resident Evil 4) have gone through the biggest upgrade in gameplay within their respective genres and franchises.

I agree but why pay $249.99 for just the motion sensor controls and a small boost in the graphics department ? I dont know about Metro.. The onlyversions i played were on the Nintendo and Super Nintendo. good games though and big difference on the graphicstoo.i have played Resident Evil 4 but its alright... Did not like the story line, i was expecting Flesh eating zombie at every corner but i was wrong and Resident Evil 5 is looking the same way.
There are heaps more upgrades and versions of the PS3 and the 360 than there are of the Wii. Does that mean they are not current-gen? Furthermore, consoles are meant to be gaming machines. They are not supposed to have extra crap like being able to play music or movies. That is entirely unnecessary. A gaming system is supposed to be just that: a gaming system. Anyway, it came out in this generation, the 7th generation, which came after the 6th generation, the last generation, thus meaning that it is indeed current-gen. Hexagon_777
Respond to my post, TC.

Think about that this way: Why are there people that pay $600 just for a big graphic improvement and a small gameplay (Sixaxis+ rumbleless)?
People buy graphics. People buy motion sensing. It's all about preferences.
