[QUOTE="The-XaoZ"]Gimmicks only last so long.ithilgore2006Yeah, like the DS, right? Handheld market and console market are different. Lets hope that they stay that way.
[QUOTE="The-XaoZ"]Gimmicks only last so long.Metrovaniabut revolutionary ideas change the industry. I am still waiting for those. If you mean revolutionary ways of getting money from people. Then yes. If you mean a revolutionary way of getting people to accept gaming from generations ago and sell them on the idea that its a brand new thing. Its like the emperiors new clothes recycled.

Japan begs to differ. :P They are being flooded with Nintendo products right now, and the competition is getting stomped. Badly.

Even games like Medal of Honour have moves that aren't mapped to any button on other controllers (quick 180 by flicking the nun-chuck) adding greater control over the game.

Please dont ever bring Japan into this when we are talking about console market. As much as I want games by Japanese devs, I really dont rate their market much at all. I would have rated their market a while ago, but now its like a casualfest, with pretty much the same crap week in week out. Japan = handheld market. Which is why the Wii is just a home version of the ds.

I think they have been doing that for years, Nintendo said themselves the Wii is easy to program for because it is essentially a GC so they should have no problems yet release dates keep slipping. They did the same thing with the ds though, Im sure if the Wii were to suddenly stop selling and start filling shelves the big hitters would miraculously appear.
