The ps3 and the 360 have always been matched in shooter amounts and beyond the rhetoric from cows Fps's garner some of the most sales on the ps3.

Sony has a lot more exclusives this just two shooters though.
No because even with more exclusive shooters than 360 it still has more variety exclusives coming than the 360. kuraimenWhich is completely false, but please do keep telling your self that. I do like how you caught your self at the last second and mentioned exclusives but still false.
We always had shooters :?No, its a reaction to the console crowd finally having online and realizing that they've always wanted shooters and now its in the honeymoon phase of "oohh shooters r kewl!" while its old and trite for PC gamers.

Yes, the 360 & PS3 have changed identities from a few years ago where now the PS3 has only shooters and the 360 has no games.
Seriously, both have been and are still false. :P

Actually it is. when 70-80% of your game is spent shooting enemies, hitting targets...etc and 20-30 is platforming and puzzles then your a shooter. then we just take a look at Uncharted 2's multiplayer...yeah shooter..[QUOTE="kuraimen"]No because even with more exclusive shooters than 360 it still has more variety exclusives coming than the 360. No it is not false, it is accurate. The 360 exclusive lineup is almost exclusively dedicated to shooters unlike the other consoles which have more variety. Well and Kinect now. I would call it the Oprah/shooter console :P

The position of the left analog stick doesn't really mean jack diddly at the end of the day since it has nothing to do with how accurately you can aim.

Handhelds have Shooters, DS has FPSs and SHMUPs. PSP has some FPSs and SHMUPs.Every platform has a bunch of shooters (save handhelds) so I dont really know where your going with this.

To chime in in this, IMO, Uncharted is a shooter. That's the main gameplay mechanic in it and the MP. Now it has a lot of different flavors, but shooting is the bread and butter.cainetao11True but it's not strictly an shooter game like Vanquish or Gears. I would say it falls into the action-adventure genre because in both Uncharted titles released you are moving from location to location, traversing hazards, platforming and a lot of puzzle solving.

Hence the use of IMO. I call it a shooter. Is there action and adventure in it? Of course, but there was plenty action in Gears, and Fable2.

In GT5 the DS3 has superior sensitivity, even the slightest movement on the analogue can make your car move a little.. Must be devs who create this "dead-space" we hear about... I am sure this kind of sensitivity can be used in shooters as well..

First Half-Life has plenty of platforming and puzzle solving. Still it is first person shooter. You spent majority of your time shooting things in UC2. Therefore it is a shooter.

Nah, its focusing on everything, including shooters:
LBP2
Infamous 2
The Last Guardian
FF Vs XIII
Motorstorm: Apocalypse
Agent
and many more
just because it has more FPS exclusives than the 360 doesn't mean it ONLY has FPS's, it also has more of everything else too :P.
i don't agree with that but okay, the 360 controller cramps up my hands and i feel i'm waay quicker on the draw when i'm using a ps3 controller, its all subjective reallyNo, the PS3's controller is awful for shooters.
tbolt76
Nah, since the 360 controller is much better suited for first person shooters (I mean the controllers are called 'triggers' for god sakes). And shooters perform better on that console (3,000,000 online for Black Ops is insane) it will be looked at more as the shooter console. That's my take on it, and really shooter console isn't that bad of a nickname. Also Uncharted ain't no shooter.
it's not awful, but my fingers always slip off the r2 l2 buttons on ps3 controller. they should of made them curved so ur finger doesnt slip off.No, the PS3's controller is awful for shooters.

Uncharted doesn't even qualify...that was just thrown there. It has shooting, but it is an action platformer with puzzles as well. If Uncharted 2 is considered a shooter, then so is Mass Effect 2...c'mon we know there is more going on here, especially for gamers that played these games (like myself):P
Regarding KZ and Resistance, If those were the only BIG games Sony released, then I'd totally agree. However, then Sony releases games like LittleBigPlanet, LBP2, InFamous, InFamous 2, Ratchet series, Heavy Rain, MLB:The Show, God of War 3, GT5, Motorstorm Apocalypse, Yakuza, Agent, Demon's Souls, Twisted Metal, Journey, The Last Guardian, etc.
TC, it seems you cherry picked a few shooters and tried to pigeon hole the PS3 as a shooter console, but just look at the upcoming games for PS3 or the games that came out for the PS3 and they show your premise has no merit.
What upcoming games are coming out for say the 360, TC?
It's all about balance. Sony doesn't seem to rely on Shooters which is the key difference, but yes, they do have their fair share of shooters. The enormous 1st Party of Sony doesn't just rely on shooters every holiday as their Big selling Franchise.
