Is the PS4 really and truely as good as advertised??

I think Sony really nailed it this time. They learned from the PS3. 

I doubt its as good as advertised. I clearly seem to remember the PS, PS2, and the PS3 that did not live up to the hype (4D@120fps). I dont believe Sony anymore. But it should be a good console. I am going to get one a little bit after I get an Xbox One.

The exclusives are shit compared to Nintendo's.
The launch titles are terrible.
Microsoft does better with non-gaming related apps (Still important)
And Microsoft has more wiggle room when it comes to price drops, subscriptions, and $.
Also the XB1 comes with Kinect and a real head set.

To early to tell. Lots of media hype surrounding it so we may not be getting the whole picture. Lots of people getting swept up in the hype as well, me included but when you actually sit back and look at both machines, there's not a lot about them that is enticing aside from the whole "New gadget feeling". clyde46

I imagine for herms the impact is a lot less. But people like me who've spent the last two years playing BF3 on 360, you can imagine how amazing BF4 looks on next gen consoles.

Plus lems now get dedicated servers on CoD as well :cool:

It to me just seems to be almost "too good". I just have to wonder if it is really and truly head and shoulders above the XBOX One or has Sony just done a masterful job of talking about it only when they feel there is a need and everything that gets released to the media is carefully scripted to make the console seem just too amazing. Because the way the PS4 is being talked about would lead people to believe it may well be the best console ever launched!ShoTTyMcNaDeS

I'm a bit leary of their tactics. Showing screens and brief snippets makes me suspect. Time well tell. But like Carney said I think they're closer than SW would have us believe.

Compare Halo 4 at launch to Halo 4 now. Vast improvement, right now the game is awesome so this is what we can expect with the next Halo, and if its another AAA ODST style game, then great thats one of my favourite games of last gen #dealwithit

Too much hype, wait till the hangover after the launch. When the actual hands on reviews come through the XB1 will be head & shoulders above the PS4.

better than the xbone and not as good as pc.

So far it's the best platform for me and the family. Not perfect, but it'll get the job done. Best value, overall. We can expect software support long-haul. Will probably upgrade HDD after a year or two.

Overhype which was mostly as a reaction to the mess MS made. 

I'm disappointed with the hardware of both consoles. Nothing really that pushes technology forward, they look mostly like some random PCs assembled by a PC maker.
