I have seen all the ads around about the Wii but everyone has like 4 or more people playing it.

I think in any group setting Gaming can be fun, but what concerns me is when all my friends go home..Is the Wii still fun then? I just can't see myself having as much fun with a Wii then, is it just me or are other people seeing it the same way? I also tend to play later in the night when my neighbours just don't  appreciate  the sounds of me jumping around my apartment..

To me it looks like a great party console, but with work, girlfriends ect My friends rarely all get together at one time. So I can't really see me ever getting any use out of it.

I'm not trying to knock it just curious if it is still as fun to play alone as apposed to in a group?

Well I don't think Twilight Princess will be more fun when someone is sitting next to me thinking they know more than me.

No it's not that fun. It's better if you have friends over.

it is fun alone when playing single player but there are just some games you know weren't made for single. mario party, rayman (fun until you unlock everything), monkey ball (debatable since i don't like the single player and its my opinion).

I think that the wii is a solid single player console, it just doesn't have many good reps as single player games.  Eg, zelda is a great single player game but it doesn't use the controls as much as it should.  Godfather is the opposite- you have a blast with the controls but the game is a bit lacking.  I like both games.  And yes, you can have a blast by yourself with controls just like you have a blast with the controls in wiisports.  I guess it's kind of like having a blast with graphics.  You appreciate it alone, but when other people are watching you play they become more awesome -- make sense?

Depends on the game. Zelda, SPM and the Godfather were pretty good imo.

Lots of games like zelda, paper mario, and such can be fun alone but games like elebits, warioware, wii sports just don't last without a second player. There's a real mixed bag of games here.

Total makes sense and besides that half my friends are blurry eyed (ya I know to many drunk friends)  when group playing as it is, so graphics on some games really don't matter just the game play ..

depends on the game really. theres nothing inherently wrong with the wii and SP games. personally i only game alone and there are some fun games on wii with a good SP campaighn (Zelda is great) but it does need to improve on the SP front imho (and it will as time goes by with games like galaxy, no more heros, and MP3).

Yes. Zelda, Paper Mario, SSX Blur, Trauma Center are all good in single player.

agreed...

If you have spare cash the Wii is a nice console to have along-side a PC/PS3/360.

As your main gaming platform very disappointing... I'm not sure this is how I wanted Ninty to go. Though talking to most hardcore Wii fans they just happy its selling so well. Me I'd rather have the powerhouse consoles of past like N64 & SNES. They were always Top-dog and most powerful consoles around.

Depends, Party games are more fun with others. Were as Zelda: Twilight princess and Super Paper Mario are more fun on your own.

Although I personally didn't enjoy Zelda.

Yes, ive had just as much fun singleplayer as ive had playing any other console.

Sure, its a great party console, but playing alone is just as fun.

I think it is more fun with others, but at the same time zelda is a really great game and so is SPM. Overall games like wario ware which are way more fun with others are best with others, and back seat drivers to zelda are worse then playing it alone XD.

Some games just are party games, and others are your single player experience.

If you like to spend tons and tons of hours at a time for play sessions be prepared to run out of games..........quick. Most of the good games like Rayman and Warioware are extremely short campaign wise.

Zelda lasted for me a grand total of about 21 hours. Granted I didn't do the cave of trials, but thats a standard fare for most games.

wii is not fun period unless your throwing it in the trash were it belongs Sony_Best_Ps3

I smell fanboy... A fanboy which cannot make clever comments at that... So a £180 games console that is fully functional belongs in the trash? Also, since when has throwing things in the trash been fun?

But back on topic, it depends on the game. If it's something like Twilight Princess, Super Paper Mario or Excite Truck then you can of course have fun playing alone. With games like Wario Ware, Wii Sports, and Wii Play they're still great fun alone, but they get older faster unless you have people to play with.
