I dunno if the winner is decided by sales and not by games , a 250$ system will definitely beat it's expensive competition regardless of the superior games they might have... but then again if sales decide who the winner is yes , I believe the Wii already won and its here to stay and hurt the gaming industry...

If the wii is a fad, it should have already died!!! But it hasn't!!! Nintendo's monthlysales still look strong and it will probrably continue until all console heavy hitters are out!!!

It's current popularity is a fad IMO. Once Nintendo actually starts shipping units, people will stop buying them so fast, and it will settle into a more relaxed pace. It's really in it's own market, I don't see anyone buying a Wii INSTEAD of a ps3 or 360. Generally people will buy a Wii but have 0% interest in the others regardless of owning a Wii OR buy a Wii as well as one of the true next gen systems.

actually i was at best buy a couple days ago, there was a family who was going to buy a ps3 then they went over to the wii section and they decided to buy that instead.
I have never in my life seen such prolonged crying over a videogame system. Even when GS flopped Zelda, the sheep didn't cry for 8 straight months about it.
Wii is not a fad, it's not killing gaming, and regardless of what you want to believe, it does count in the console wars.
dude the wii rocks. it might attract more casual gamers, but they also do have games for the hardcore. i cant see majority of casuals picking up metroid prime 3 when it comes out. They even have MLG tournaments off super smash melee and brawl is coming out this holiday season. i dont understand why some ppl think wii is a fad. its like sony and microsoft they have certain games that appeal to certain gamers and it goes the same for the wii.
people said the ds was a fad look at it now.wii is not a fad.ps3 was a fad the first week it launced people were goin crazy for it,people were geting shot for it.a week later i walk in to a best buy theres a friggen stack of them just lying there. like 5 feet tall!!
I think the Wii will get better games in the future. It's outselling the other consoles PS3 and XBox360 the only thing that it is not outselling is the DS.
