For me I think it is.
All I'm going to say about it is that Nintendo has shown me more or less what to expect from a Nintendo console; and it's not for me.
I've had a Nintendo system every gen since the NES (minus the N64), and I got to say it's been quite mediocre since I came back with the GC.

At least the GC could be compared to the competition fairly, butNintendo is so technologally behind this time I don't even have time to sneeze in its direction.
Plus I don't like the way Mario games have been for about the last 10 years, and all my favorite Nintendo franchises have not shown much real progress at all. It's as if I'm going to have to wait another 5 gens before I get a Mario Kart that actually progresses the series. I can forgive the hardware, but the games aren't as special as they used to be.
I don't even care what they're announcing for the next gen, I'm passing.
Anyone else?

Well I never owned a Wii. For a brief moment coming back from playing it at a friends place, I flirted with the idea of buying it, and in the end my rationale was I would only play it a handful of times, and that doesn't justify the purchase. Though when I played at my friends it was fun, that wasn't enough for me to get it and looking at subsequent games that have been released, they aren't really for me, and I am glad I didn't buy it. But if their next system I think stacks up to the PS3 and 360 then I might consider more, but if it mucht he same, then I couldn't against justify it.

meh, i loved the NES and gameboy, but skipped the SNES, N64 and Gamecube because they didn't offer anything i was looking forward to

later on, i regretted not playing the games on these systems, so at the very least i will put the effort in to check out each new nintendo system in the future

Well, it depends of the focus on the next console. If they continue releasing only casual games and shovelware then the Wii is my last Nintendo System. Oh and yeah, if they don't renovate games with new gameplay, for example, Zelda really needs a revamp because it is getting boring.

Why judge a company on one product. Just because the snes was fantastic no ones gonna go out and buy every console since the snes ... likewise even if I dont find the wii to my liking whos to say nintendo and Sony/M$ dont end up flip flopping. I'm not gonna lock myself out of a potentially good console in teh future just because this gen Nintendo doesn't do it for me .... silly idea. so NO i will not lock myself into a silly statement like this.

No? Did you ever think this was only a phase for Nintendo? I will always buy Nintendo products. I will laugh when somehow Nintendo pulls off being the best console next-gen and you have to miss out on it because you don't buy Nintendo consoles anymore. :P

As of now yes. The system has to have games I want before I buy it so yeah, until it has what I want I gotta assume it is. That said, I don't see myself not finding anything I want to play especially with my taste in games.

Sounds like the Wii is the first time Nintendo let you down. So I understand what you're saying.
But in my case I've been thoroughly dissapointed by the N64, the GC fell short, and the Wii I already complained about.
In my case, that's over a decade of not-good-enough.

If Wii 2 is this bad then I probably won't buy another Nintendo console again. Hopefully the 3DS is an indication of their future and Wii 2 is 3D compatible.

I think Nintendo's learned their lesson with the Wii. That accessible games sell, and people want hardcore games. The've already started to clean up their act with a summer of great titles and a promise of a new Zelda. If the next console can't stand up to the competition, then I might reconsider. But as of now, I'll look forward to a new Nintendo console with a brighter future (but not Wii Sports brighter).

Altough the the Wii isnt my favorite Nintendo console it has some of my favorite games like Galaxy (IMO best mario game ever). SNES was the best by far. To answer your question yes i will buy the next console because Nintendo has always made the best first party titles, and will continue to. As long as their first party IP's exist i will buy their games and hardware. Im hoping though that Nintendo makes their next console easier to develop for, and not have these weird fixed-function, TEV, balrgity, blargitty junk etc, etc. You get my point, better hardware so that devs arent intimidated to make games for it, and if a port is planned at least it will be a good looking port lol.

More than likely. I've supported them every generation since I was born and I think I'm about done with them. I'll probably go with a PS4/PC combo next gen.

This thread is ridiculous.

We don't know what the next console is. How the hell do I know if I'll want Nintendo's new non-existant console?

And if people already say they're going to buy it, then they're fanboys.

Not at all. I'm having tons of fun with mine. Even if I weren't, the other console is shockingly another console, things could change a lot from one gen to another.

And talking about the wii, it's the best system i ever had to play along with my girlfriend, and i really enjoy playing it. Although i still prefer the PS3 games to play alone or online.

what a foolish thing to ask, of course not. nintendo has done a great job with its games and i have no reason to think they wont do the same in the future
