Just beat it and I gotta say. It was pretty damn good. I thought I'd beat it in 3hrs but I spent around 7hrs and I'm still not done. Loved the story, loved the characters and loved the quests. The story was a lot more personal and involved less world saving but saving the soul of a single man. The ending was touching and some of the quests actually made me tear a bit.

What do you say system warriors?

Finish it. In its short length it left a bigger impact on me than the main game. The whole atmosphere, the themes are simply amazing, everything was truly heartwarming. The way the plot unfolds, the things that happened...I'll stop now.

Excuse me for I must go cry.

Hope you won't get burnt of the game before trying the DLC. It took me 60hrs on my first playthrough. 100hrs of the same game can be tiresome.

Look I'll be 100% honest. I think it's better than the main game. The antagonist in that game is something else. The Wild Hunt doesn't hold a candle to him.

The storytelling in a video game doesn't get any better than this. Well except for games like Spec Ops: The Line.

You didn't seem to answer the question, but rather used the topic to voice your dislike of the game. So do you think it was the best DLC of 2015? Or have you not played it? I'm assuming by your post you never played the DLC making your post in the thread even more useless than it was before.

On Topic: I enjoyed it. I don't play much DLC so I would vote for it being the best.

The only DLC I remember playing in 2015 was The Old Hunters and Plague Knight. Both of which I enjoyed far more than TW3 proper (or what little of it I could bring myself to play). Unless Hearts of Stone changes how TW3 plays at the most fundamental level, then I doubt I'll enjoy it.

@ghosts4ever: Lol Witcher 2 combat was even worse. Story involved too much politics and world felt too constrained and limited.

I enjoyed it. Don't know if it was the best, since I haven't played its closest competitor (The Old Hunters), but I won't ever say no to more Witcher 3.

Witcher 2 had atrocious combat and TW3's open world is literally its best asset.

Yeah it's hilarious he mentions horrible combat for TW3 then goes on to mention TW2 has the better game when it has the worse combat out of all the three games.

Witcher 3 combat is Terrible. it has great enviroment, universe, setting, lore but combat is not one that is good. infact combat is not what make witcher 2 one of the best RPG game. witcher 3 is a good game but has not very good combat.

I'm not even convinced you played it based on the baseless hatemongering coming from you for months prior to its release, and the criticisms that sounded like they were scraped together from other critics and mindlessly parroted rather than established from personal experience.

(and yea Hearts of Stone was probably the best expansion of 2015)

Is the DLC for Witcher 3 worth it?

Absolutely. The plot is better than the one of the main game. It's easily 10hrs and only 10$. New quests, new gear, new characters, new locations.

Absolutely. 10 hours of gameplay at the very least, as much as 20 if you do all the side quests and stuff. And extremely enjoyable.

@with_teeth26: But i'm right. Many people cpmmented on the awful combat. It is literally the worst in the genre outside of Gothic 3.

It's also a terrible console port. Crysis 2 was crusified but it seems Witcher fanboys would rather kiss butt.

Sad really.

Crysis 2 was crucified for being worse than Crysis in literally every aspects. Hell, even graphically it was worse in some areas.

Witcher 3 beats Witcher 2 in everything.

Have the DLC installed, but still haven't booted up the game since finishing it over the summer. Backlogs and all that.

I guess you are still bitter the game saw wild success after you were so sure it would fall short of expectations.

understandable I guess, you seemed very emotionally invested in that game underperforming to the point you still delude yourself into thinking it was anything less than incredibly successful.

Yeah I loved Hearts of Stone... it was brilliant (not surprising considering the game is a masterpiece).

And Blood & Wine is definitely one of my most anticipated release this year.

Can't argue with free DLC.

By far, the Witcher 3 is a fantastic game in its own right but the story in Hearts of Stone was pure brilliance.

Definitely the best DLC hell it had a better story and characters than 90% of full retailed games
