It already has bad yields. Isn't the ONE now getting released in only 13 countries now?

Why would they increase the clockspeeds and make the yields worse than they already are?

with the build, they can easily go to 900...  even a 1000, but doubt it either or.... 1.23 tflop looks like what its going to be, we should know soon enough.

within a year Microsoft will complete the technology that lets you download ram from the cloud. this is why the Microsoft Xbox One is the only gaming system you'll ever need.

No. While the overclocking of the GPU could be a possibility (also explaining why the system has yet to be filed with the FCC here in the US), I don't think they'd put their hardware at risk for running into overheating/potential RROD madness.

As for just slapping in an additional 4 gbs of DDR3, it'd kinda put a huge burden on mine (and several others') engineering teams if they just up and decided to add 4 more gbs of DDR3, as the original rumor stated. Nevermind having to reconfigure the board for additional hardware (and its heat), the only thing this would REALLY serve would be in the RAM dick measuring contest, and a larger memory pool would further tax an already straining ESRAM pool (unfortunately :().

What if they were adding 4 gigs solely for the OS that was cut off from the rest to free up the 8 gigs would that still tax the static RAM? There`s probably a way they could work around it isn`t there?

We don't know anything right now. The only thing we really know is 8gb RAM and 5 billion transitors. Also that the XBOX One is 10 times as powerful as the Xbox 360. Strictly speaking about Xbox 360 had .24 Tflops so Xbox One has 2.4 Tflops? We may never now.

Adding in a completely partitioned 4 gbs for the OS would be silly. For starters, you'd have to put it on a separate rack on the hardware itself; you'd actually have to re-engineer the console's hardware design.

Adding it into its current design is theoretically possible only if you swap out the DDR3 chip set for a larger volume. However, that doesn't deal with the heating issue, or that you would be re-indexing your memory addresses, causing an enormous amount of memory leak related bugs in ALL X1 games.

Also, I sent you the DM.

Well I assume they will announce it before they release it, but IMO it`s way to late in the game for them to change anything now.

Oh ok thanks I really didn't think it would be too feasible to add partitioned RAM like that just a top of the head idea. Anyway they could deal with a quick heat fix if they did add the RAM to it`s current design without risk of a faulty design? p.s you know your $hit What if they were adding 4 gigs solely for the OS that was cut off from the rest to free up the 8 gigs would that still tax the static RAM? IF they were going to make some hardware changes, I'm sure they'd keep it a secret so once it's announced Sony wouldn't have time to react to one up them before release. Though, I doubt any big changes are going to take place, expect maybe changes to the memory bandwidth.

nope, they have absolutely really no time to make any big changes your right..only thing they could really do is upclock the GPU but have a big risk of overheating consoles by doing that without proper testing when the console is 3 months away from launching

Why? Because you think it's better? Or because its cheaper? Or because you like its games more? What's your main reason? Just curious.

they dont have to make any changes when the dev kits already have 12gbs they have not sold one xbox one console the video that shows the rack that was full of zebra striped consoles all had 12gbs in them so they have been testing 12gbs and upclocked consoles but who knows hopefully hotchips will explain more.

Most people on this forum are Cows who will not get off the Sony bandwagon no matter how abysmal PS4's launch lineup of games is. They are picking the PS4 not because of good games, but because of slightly more powerful hardware specs. Well the joke will be on them when games like Killer Instinct, Titanfall, Project Spark, and Halo 5 end up being better than anything available on PS4, and XBOX ONE ends up having a more efficient architecture and better game development leading to better graphics and performance than PS4. Just wait and see.

All those games you listed won't score above an 85 on metacritic.

Also, the PS4's architecture is more efficient. Deal with it.

I'm willing to bet that even small changes are even an impossibility ATM as even they need to be tested to some degree not to mention there already are or getting ready for production and changing even small thing will cause a bit of a cluster %?$&.

[QUOTE="superclocked"]Increased GPU clock speed? Probably so.. Shielder7
How much can they increase it without putting it at risk of frying it or overheating? I donèt see them risking another RROD fiasco

The leaked picture of the fan in the One looked pretty beefy. Should be able to get a decent over clock out of it. Not saying that's actually happening but looks possible.

Sounds like a RROD waiting to happen, theyère not taking into account of Human stupidity i.e brain dead casuals that put there system in an unventilated TV cabinet and than it doesn't matter how big the fan is.

Keep in mind that if there are changes, they will have been made a month or two ago. MS is good at keeping things under wraps. The people working on the console didn't even know it was going to be called XB One until Mattrick revealed it. Letting developers have access to overclock the GPU is probably the most plausible that I've heard.

Yes it is. 12 gigs of Ram should be easy since the Dev Kits are using that amount.

If the PS4 can't overclock or it will RROD for sure. Also don't block the back of the PS4.

and you do realize XB1 dev kits have more RAM then the retail units will have to compensate for the debugging/development tools right?
