Sounds like a RROD waiting to happen, theyère not taking into account of Human stupidity i.e brain dead casuals that put there system in an unventilated TV cabinet and than it doesn't matter how big the fan is.Shielder7
Someone did that to my first 360. I let the guy borrow it, and he put it on a tiny shelf with a glass door on the front. The shelf was about the same size as the console. Some people just aren't very savvy about technology...

Yes it is. 12 gigs of Ram should be easy since the Dev Kits are using that amount.

xboxiphoneps3

and you do realize XB1 dev kits have more RAM then the retail units will have to compensate for the debugging/development tools right?

Yeah still the hardware is designed for that amount. So it would be easy to mass produce those motherboards.

true, it would make more sense for Msoft to just upclock the GPU moreso of them just adding more RAM and adding more heat when the extra RAM wont really provide much at all, they might as well just upclock the GPU because theyll get much more performance gains out of that by doing that

and yeah, adding more RAM would just put more strain on the already strained eSRAM

Um no offense but I don't think you're grasping the concept of just having more RAM for debugging/development tools not to mention the strain it would cause the already strained ESRAM. As someone already stated it would just serve as an RAM pissing contest.

Yeah but certain games like Witcher 3, Dead Rising 3, etc would benefit from having more Ram since it's using slower ram and less powerful GPU than the PS4.

Yeah, it got RRoD the first day that the had it. The funniest part is that when I got back from vacation a week later, the console was still running. He thought that turning it off would just make things worse facepalm.gif

The 360 auto turns off if it's been on more than an hour without doing anything.

Nope.. When I got back from vacation a week later, the red lights were flashing nice and bright. It felt like an oven on that tiny little shelf. In fact, I ran my original 360 nearly 24 hours a day, and my current 360 never turns itself off. It does dim the screen a bit after a while, though...

You must have an older model than. The new dashboard update from more than a year ago adds that feature.

That was a launch 360 built in 2005. It ran like a champ before my friend turned it into the heating element of an oven.. Also, my current 360 is from 2009, it's completely updated, and it does not turn itself off. All that it does is dim the screen after a while. There's probably a setting for standby mode or something...

Actually I think that much RAM in a game like Witcher 3 would just end up bottlenecking everything else, I donèt see more RAM helping out any.

why would you even ask this here? :P2ndWonder

Because it has been 7 minutes since we had a thread or discussion about the xbox one getting more powerful hardware.
