Is there a chance Mass Effect 2 won't go multiplat...?

I know EA will own BioWare on 1/1/08 but seeing how BioWare will still operate independently do you think the exclucivity of ME will remain with MS...? I know this is an old topic but I was wondering what you all thought the likelyhood of such a thing could be...?

by the way, Im 21 hours in to ME and I'm barely into the main quest... It's my GOTY easilly... and I say that after playing Bioshock and SMG... not even in the ballpark... sorry.

Edit: Whoops, the first will eventually end up on PC. But not on the PS3, of course.

If PS3's sales get better, then it's definately going to go multiplat. If they stay the same, I'd say there's a 50/50 chance.

well from a money standpoint its incredibly smart... also, If do you think people who own the PS3 will buy a 360 to play ME1 down the line if they can play 2 and 3...? seriously, they might...

If someone owned both of the systems, why would they buy it on the PS3 over the 360 since the game data will be transferable other than that -- chances are performance will be more stable on the 360 version. It'd be pointless.

That's chancey though, I doubt 20fps looks much different compared to 19. At least to your average gamer.

Honestly, I can't see ME going to anything other than PC's.

MS won't let the first ME go to PS3 so it would seem odd to have the next installments go multi-console...

Either way it wouldn't really bother me...ME is so good that I honestly wouldn't mind sharing it with the cows :)

Bioware hasnt made an exclusive title in almost a decade. Why would they all of a sudden for ME?XaosII

I think that Microsoft owns the rights to the Mass Effect franchise. Correct me if I'm wrong.dewmandew7

They don't. EA has already said they own the rights to Mass Effect now. But MS is publishing the first Mass Effect and as Publisher, it is up to them to decide which systems it will come to. The Mass Effects after that though they have no say in unless EA lets them.

VGcharts has it at 192,00 units in week one... pretty good for an RPG... just for comparrison, Uncharted, a very casual friendly game sold 88,000 units in week one... Granted its VGcharts but thats a pretty huge difference....

Well Uncharted is a PS3 game, obviously only an idiot would expect it to sell well. A better comparison would be Mass Effect vs. another RPG. What were the first week sales of KOTOR 1 and 2?

And yeah it'll probably go multiplat. I'll still probably get the 360 versions though, I'm a neat freak like that. I like having my whole series' on one platform...

KOTOR is a star wars game... You dont think that the star wars connection aided the sale of KOTOR...? you must be joking.... It's about potential and quality... I wouldn't compare Assassins Creed on both consoles... but two totaly different games is ok...

If MS has Mass Effect 2 & 3 locked in, they would have said so long ago. They only spoke with certainty about the first game - I think that says it all.lowe0

That is actually good (for 360 sales) due to the fact that if some PS3 owners love ME2, the only way they'd be able to play the first one is to buy a 360.

I remember pointing out how Bioware has been going downhill since the Baldur's Gate series and you so vehemently defended agaisnt it. You've never actually played anythig before KOTOR from Bioware so you wouldnt have the slightest idea. I knew that ME was going to be a decent game but nearly as well as their truly great series. 8.5 proves that. Gameranking's rank proves the same thing too.
