[QUOTE="Parasomniac"]Halo 3 would get a 6/10 on PCTacticalDesire
Why's that?
Doesn't hold up well in 2010 on a PC. Halo 2 got a 7/10[QUOTE="SAGE_OF_FIRE"]Well apparently a gearbox employee hinted that they were working on a Reach pc port. IantheoneI would be sooo happy if this were to happen I would too, I really don't have much interest in playing a shooter with a controller anymore.
[QUOTE="Snagal123"]
Its possible.
I think any sane PC gamer would prefer Alan Wake or even Gears 2 instead of Halo 3.
Espada12
I know I would.. but gears 2 isn't happening.. AW is more likely.
I don't understand why they won't port Gears 2, sure it won't sell millions, but i'm sure it can still turn a profit.
Theres people still playing Gears 1 PC online, i know, as i was playing it a few days ago, finished it on insane in co-op, and played some deathmatch.
Shame, its a very solid game on PC, i would love Gears 2 and 3.

I don't mind Games for Windows Live at all, infact i kind of like it as it has achievements that are connected to Xbox Live. Games like Dirt 2, Fallout 3 and Batman all had GFWL and i'm sure turned a good profit. I think your find many PC gamers actually don't mind GFWL at all, but the haters are always the more vocal group.
Epic are on record saying the Gears IP belongs to them not Microsoft, so if anyone is stopping a Gears 2 and 3 port its Epic and if what they say is true they could make ita Steam game if they wanted not GFWL.
Well apparently a gearbox employee hinted that they were working on a Reach pc port. SAGE_OF_FIRE
Yes, but when someone said it was a lie he basicly said yes it was. :s
It wotn happen. The only reason M$ ported Halo 2 to PC was to gather more interest in the series so halo 3 would sell more consoles.
Games for windows live needs to be redone.
Step 1: Fixing the store
First Microsoft needs to stop this whole "Exclusive to GFWL bs". They need to allow the developers to release their games to rival DD services (such as steam). But they need something to draw users into buying the gfwl version (they could do this by simply having a 10% discount on Microsoft Game Studio Games, thus drawing in new users). They then should set up a download and update system so it does not compete with steam (remember if the user likes steam and if your games uses a feature that hurts this, they simply wont buy). But the user also doesn't want to have to run a million programs just to play his game.
Step 2: Overlay bs
Okay, talk to any pc gamer, no one likes the gfwl overlay since it's mandatory and a pain in the ass. It just takes too much time sign in and what not. What should be done is that the overlay is removed, but not fully. The overlay should be changed so it's more pc oriented. It should be made to mimic something like xfire. And yes actually allow you to chat and send voice messages.
Step 3: Windows live id
The Windows live id is something that is used for both gfwl and xbl accounts. The change for pc games should be that in it's pc games it should be used similar to the EA account system. To play mp you have to sign into your windows live account, this way your stats and such can be properly tracked from game to game. But the name that others see in mp games can be changed in an options menu whenever the player wishes.
Step 4: Dedicated Servers
This is simple, get rid of the pvp system that is used on the xbox. No one likes it, and it restricts custom content and low ping games. People should be allowed to host their own servers and customize it properly.
annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd, I can't remember what else I wanted to say.

hypoty
I would imagine they did it to sell more copies of Windows Vista and boost interest in DX10.
And it could have worked a bit if they dropped gfwl and tried pushing the visuals some.[QUOTE="TacticalDesire"][QUOTE="Parasomniac"]Halo 3 would get a 6/10 on PCParasomniac
Why's that?
Doesn't hold up well in 2010 on a PC. Halo 2 got a 7/10Well...the change in years obviously doesn't help, hell if GTAIV was released in the same state as before now on consoles it might get an 8. As time passes games usually don't age well, but the graphics could be upgraded for the PC and I find a 6/10 a bit extreme.
[QUOTE="Megaman5364"][QUOTE="Parasomniac"]Halo 3 would get a 6/10 on PCclyde46More like a 16 / 10 Its got to stand up against a lot more. It would be average at best.
Why? Based on graphics alone?
[QUOTE="Anjunaddict"][QUOTE="clyde46"] Its got to stand up against a lot more. It would be average at best.clyde46
Why? Based on graphics alone?
Gameplay, MP, graphics, story. They are average at best on PC.How would the gameplay be average on the PC. Its just a different style of game to something like CS or UT.
And story? Its an FPS, not many have great stories. Crysis doesn't, and its done pretty well for itself.
I think you're exaggerating by saying it would be average, thats not true at all. Yeah, multiplayer would need reworked to include server browsing instead of matchmaking, but other than that ...

"cough" BS "cough"
last time I checked their was like one or two games up. None of them for co-op.
I guess it's possible but Bungie wouldn't be the ones to do it. They didn't port Halo 1 or 2, after all. It was Gearbox and Microsoft, respectively.vashkeyi'm pretty sure they did. otherwise they wouldnt giving that flair thing for people who own the pc version
i'm pretty sure they did. otherwise they wouldnt giving that flair thing for people who own the pc version They were involved, but GearsBox was the developer that did most of the work. But they were completely uninvolved with the Halo 2 port.[QUOTE="vashkey"]I guess it's possible but Bungie wouldn't be the ones to do it. They didn't port Halo 1 or 2, after all. Well i just managed to play through most of the game in co-op, i'm not claiming there is alot of people playing but there was enough. This is in the UK mind you, maybe in the US theres no one playing.
