Sure, its a cheaper option... but the biggest selling point for the 360 has always been its games library over the PS3 and its online. The 360 has a great library of games, but for somebody getting a console now... games like Perfect Dark Zero, Graw and some other older AAAE exclusive are really dated now and havent aged the best. If you bought a 360 now, would you really wanna get these older games?
PS3 had arguably a better 2008, and 2009 looks to be a landslide. Also, although not completely on par,, the PSN is very close to the 360 and considering one costs $50, the other is free and theyre virtually the same... its a no brainer.
360 has no great exclusives announced this year,,, and pinning all of your hopes on E3 is wishful thinking,, and at best will only garner one or 2 exclusives in late 2009 (whereas PS3 already had KZ2 and Infamous).
Finally, there is the blu ray. Yeah, im pulling the blu ray card because it is now relevant. It is 2009, if you playing any current gen console,, youre really only getting like 25% of its capabilities on a SDTV... and with Blu rays dropping in price and beginning to gain momentum its a big draw to consumers.
Ive already sold 4 PS3s this gen to friends/family when bringing up these points. Whenever you blindly search PS3 vs 360 comparison online, you will get a 2 year old heavily biased comparisons that bring up now irrelevant points
