Hardly. He left to go where the money was.

Execs leave companies all the time, and I am sure getting money as he was leaving MS to go to EA, who was in turn dangling money in front of him had nothing to do with it...

But I thought MS had all of the money in the world. That they are the most powerful company ever. And they just let him go??? Come on.

They let go of Rare because they were becoming more of a liability than an asset.

I don't believe in coincidences. Another smoke-screen, spoon feed story the media had to deal with from corporate America. Same with Ken Kutaragi. Sorry fellows, both of theseguys were force to move on.

They have money but it is a business that needs to make business decisions. MS had to ask themselves was Moore worth as much money as he wanted. MS obviously thought he was not worth it. Obviously a lot of people don't know much about business around here. Trying to use Moore leaving MS as a sign of coming troubles is just plain silly.

You have insider information or just speculating? We all can speculate. Thanks though.

Makes sense, Rare lost all of its good staff and qualities. Nintendorealises this andsells another worthless product for ridiculious profit.

Bill Gates sees the trainwreck that is Peter Moore's vision of the Xbox and lets him go his on way after some harsh words.

I am glad u agree. Now there is nothing wrong with speculating, heck that is what mainly goes on around here; however, as long as we all know that it is speculation we should have more fruitful discussions.

I don't know one way or the other for sure, of course, but why are people acting like it's impossible that Peter Moore may have been fired? It's very common in these types of large, visible corporations, mainly for PR purposes, to stretch the truth or outright lie about a high-level employee's departure. It's easier and more effective for everybody involved if they just simply say that he moved on, but it's very easily possible that he was just plain fired even if he is making more money at EA.
