Is there anything you would change in your gaming history? that you wish you played sooner or completely missed out on? for me I have a few. First I wish I played MGS back in 98 and Silent Hill in 99 I missed out on both of those games and yet have nostalgia for them even though I only played a little of them for the first time this month. Also I wish I got into PC gaming earlier I started in 2005 and wish I got into it back in 98 when Half Life was released. What about you?

I wish that I had kept my SNES and the games that I got for it from back in the day. Also wish that I kept the Neo-Geo and games that I had as well.

I was thinking the same thing!!

I wanted to play MGS and Silent Hill.

Have you heard of Alundra?? It’s the PlayStation version of Zelda.

Also I’m playing Resident Evil Code Veronica for PS2. I like this game more than RE3: Nemesis.

I always wanted to play “Glover” on PS1/N64. Never got the chance and forgot about it till now.

If I ever see it for cheap, I’ll pick it up even if it aged bad.

Probably keep my ps1 games in better conditions. I have some gems in my collection like Revelations Persona, Pepsi man and Suikoden 1&2. The condition is if I can rate is probably at 4/10 ?

I wish I had not played so many first person shooters when I started. If I had discovered my love for rts and c-rpg before I think I would have enjoyed things more.

No I never heard of it. The crazy thing about MGS and Silent Hill is I did have a PS1 it's just at that time in my life I lost some interest in gaming.

@warmblur:

I wish I gave jrpgs a fair try back in the day. And I also wish I followed the Witcher when it first came out. It feels like it would've been so much easier to invest my time on Witcher 3 if I played the originals.

@outworld222:

Resident Evil: Code Veronica was actually supposed to be the original Resident Evil 3 but they changed their minds at the last minute. What became Resident Evil 3 Nemesis was meant to be an expansion to Resident Evil 2.

I use to buy into "pc master race" bullshit.

90% of the people spouting this shit didn't even buy games or support the developers, and then they got angry they jumped to consoles.

Pathetic.

Not much. Stuff I've missed I've gone back to in later years. Games like A Link to the Past, Super Metroid and Half-Life for example. Those games I thought would be too hard for me when I was little, so I played other things. When I went back to them in my teenage years or so, I was blown away by awesomeness.

I really regret giving GameStop my GameCube in order to get the Wii cheaper, though. I really don't need the GC, since the Wii is part GC, but... I miss it.. *sniff

@ProtossRushX: I actually enjoy finding a lost gem later in life; especially when I'm sick of the current offerings. I played super Metroid for the first time a couple years ago and loved it.

Lol i just lend mine out, well, starting with the 64. Prior ones i did sell in order to get the next one, i imagine like many kids did.

As for the topic, and i wont call this a regret, but at the time i didnt really realize how great the Sega Saturn was. Only rented it a few times.

I wouldn't have sold all those games in college when I was broke.

I wouldn't have loaned a few games I never got back - specifically my gold Zelda 64 cart.

I'd go back in time and teach my young self how the hell to configure sounds cards properly for certain games in the mid-90's.

Not getting into PC gaming sooner.

I tried back in the early 2000s but most big titles were multiplayer, RTS or MMO.

Returned as a serious PC gamer in 2010 I think.

Best decision ive made in a long time.

Looking back, I should probably have never purchased a ps2 or 3. I almost never go back to either system and their ‘exclusives’ have never really interested me. Although, I did like Socom. Sucks that Sony ruined that franchise.

No, I don't really think I missed out or would change anything.. other than maybe getting into online gaming on consoles a little sooner I missed out on the infancy days of all that. As far as games are concerned, I've played from the tail end of 2600 through the current day and have thousands of games to show for it.

I am actually thinking about buying a better PC just to get in on WoW vanilla though. I played WoW for several years (on a whim.. didn't think I would like it and tried it when I saw a free trial). I guess it would be cool to have a chance to jump back in on the "2nd chance" at the beginning. Maybe go back and play a few of the earlier PC games as well.

I wish i had played original Deus Ex in 2000 instead of playing it in 2011 in a preparation of Deus Ex Human Revolution. becomes my fav game of all time bar none. but i guess i was too young in 2000 so it would not be easy for me to play that game at that time.

I'm not too sure.

But, probably just being better at playing games in general as a kid. Parents had to beat most of the bosses & hard stages for me. Maybe I'm too hard on myself though because I'm mainly referring to games such as Kingdom Hearts & Final Fantasy X. (I didn't know how to upgrade the characters equipment back then. Especially dealing with the sphere grid on FFX was confusing for me.)

I don't think so. A lot of my favourite games I played day 1, or at least close. I've probably missed multiple gems in my gaming history.

I learned way too late how to play RTS game properly and now the genre is practically dead. I would like to have learned how to play properly back during the genre's prime instead of just playing against the AI and friends who were similarly bad at them.

I've played so many good games, and many bad ones, over the years. But, I don't wish to change any of it. Maybe in a fleeting moment, I'll think about it that way, but the games that I played and currently play, still shape my outlook on gaming.

I wouldn't be who I am without the experiences that games gave me. Including the ability to share those experiences with friends. I gained many great friends just because of the games that I was playing at the time. I wouldn't want to miss out on those friendships.

I would buy Banjo Tooie instead of Mickey's Speedway USA. Although Mickey's was actually a darn good game.

Also, playing Kingdom Hearts when I was a kid instead of as an adult. It would have made me a huge fan.

Yeh. Biggest piece of advice. Never have a huge backlog of games on whichever platform and tell urself u play later. Do it now or trust me as days go by, ull either never finish your library or the games wont work due to hardware, software or even os incompatibilites

@hrt_rulz01: I've been contemplating buying a gamecube again...I think im gonna just get some gamecube controllers for my Wii and Wii u(which I just got for a song). Been playing super Mario sunshine lately but think it'll be better on a gc controller vs a wii classic controller.

I never got into gamecube until really late as I had a ps2 and Xbox. I missed some really great games the eon hdmi adaptor has me interested in picking one up again.
