There will definitely be a new kind of disc for the XBox 720... it will be a revolutionary new format to combat piracy. It won't be a cd, it won't be a dvd, it will be the fantastic that is GD-ROM!!!!
They're going to go to Blu-ray and pay Sony $$$, haha.masterpinky2000
Wrong. They'll be paying the BDA, not Sony, as Sony doesn't even own Blu-Ray, especially when there's a VC-1 codec on each Blu-Ray disc (in which that codec is Microsoft's). Even then, they won't have to worry about paying much money to the BDA to have it supported on their next X-Box console like Sony did, because it's already becoming cheaper.

Didnt Sony made projects with Pioneer and another Company that became blu ray and Form BDA to gain support. so that means a part of BDA belongs to sony
Bill Gates pioneered the PC....does that mean EVERY PC in the world belongs to MS?
Yes! The rise of GD-ROM will take the world by surprise! :PThere will definitely be a new kind of disc for the XBox 720... it will be a revolutionary new format to combat piracy. It won't be a cd, it won't be a dvd, it will be the fantastic that is GD-ROM!!!!

While you're correct in the BDA, being the licensor of Blu-Ray, the licensor of VC-1 is not Microsoft, it's MPEG-LA, LLC, and listed among the essential patent holder, besides Microsoft, is Sony...IT's Definitely not DVD.
DVD gets no round Three!
I can't speak for the Wii.
========== :P
DD combined with Blu, or a new proprietary format.

I could deffinately see Microsoft have Blu-Ray and Digital Downloads releases of games next generation, hell I could even see them releaseing digital versions of the games a week earlier or so to encourage people to buy the digital version of the game.
1 Gigabyte is a 1000 Megabites. FF13 takes up 3 DVDs, which hold somewhere between 9-10 gigs. Do the math.Okay max floppy disc size is 240 MB not bad.
How many MBs do you's reckon FF13 is at an estimate???

10x1000=10000/240=41.6 so thats 42 floppy discs

I'm I think you are the one who needs to do the math....
8 bits = 1 byte
1024 bytes = 1 kilobyte
1024 kilobytes = 1 megabyte
1024 megabytes = 1 gigabyte
Also I believe the max amount of space that can be used on one DVD-9 disk for the Xbox 360 is 6.7 or 6.8 GB the rest of the memory is reserved for something else I believe, so that would be
3 x 6.8 = 20.4 GB x 1024 = 20889.6 MB
20889.6/240 = 87.04 Floppy Disks @ 240 MB each.
