Well these sorts of threads seem to be the trend during these friggen ''Game droughts'', So lets all add to the fire. :P

alrighty then, below is a comparison between what would be a Consoles deciding factor for the title ''console of the year'', that is the quality games that you wont find on the systems direct compition.

In order for a game to make this list of mine, it needs to fufill a certain criteria...

Its needs to have been released or announced to be within 2008. The game cant be available on the opposing console in anyway. In keeping with Gamespots ranking system a game must score at least a 7.5 (good), please note for me, only 8.0 and above are even worth looking at, but Im trying to keep this as unbiased and fair as possible, so we are sticking to gamespots mentality. Finally if the game has yet to be released, it needs a signifigent amount of hype or a high pedagree to contend in this thread.

I think owners of either system will find this fair, now then on to the list.

Xbox 360.

Ninja gaiden 2 (8.0)

Lost odyssey (7.5)...just

Hmmm...that PS3 list seems alittle thin, Please if I have missed a game from either system that meets the above standereds, feel free to list it so we may refine the compition, I could of sworn SP:Conviction was moved to 09, but gamespot maintains a TBA 08 release date, if you have a more credable source that says otherwise on it or any of the games Ive Listed, please provide the Link.

well there you go, I think you'll find this a fair comparison of the two consoles for this year, I look forward to your opinions.

How so? Because its the only console you have?

About 3 months ago i would've said PS3 but now i really could care less...People can argue all they want on this subject but i'm going to be playing the games while they argue so whatever. I just hope the games live up to what they promise to be.

2008 is not the year of the PS3, neither was 2007. But I assure you, there will be cows as early as January boasting that 2009 will be the year of the PS3.

meh they're pretty much the same, neither has wow'd me untill now

except MGS4..so..Ill give it to ps3 this time..

we'll see at the end of this year though once all games and updates etc are out

yeah i liked 360 e3 although i think ps3 stil wins the game year

PS3 has MGS4 and LBP. Both look very good to me. But then there aren't any other exclusive games coming out that interest me.

360 has Too Human, Tales of Vesperia, Infinite Undiscovery, Fable 2, Gears of War 2, and Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts. And those are just the exclusive games that are coming in the rest of the year. Add in the first half of the year, and the multiplat games, and that's a lot of great games.

so far this is not the year for the ps3 or the 360 from what you posted

ps3: 1 AA game or better

xbox360: 1 AA game or better

a few underachievers for both and mostly unreleased games. so far this year i would say pc-wii-ps3-xbox360. things could change but thats how it stands in my minds eye as of now

How could I forget Socom!? Silly me :P
